COVID-19 has brought about changes that have forced us to consider cities and neighbourhood impacts on climate change and resources consumption as well as community organization. In many modern cities, people live together in way that perpetuates severe inequalities that often disproportionately impacts marginalized groups. UNEP developed a set of guidelines that can help cities implement an integrated sustainable neighbourhood design around three core principles: Design, Integration and Local Context which can lead to a thorough transition towards a circular economy. Many cities have already taken actions to lead the way.
Join global experts to envision a future of what sustainable cities and neighbourhoods can be for vibrant local economies and strong local communities.
