So after this video, I have still no idea what glossaries are, or why I should use them. I'll continue with the other lessons, but in my opinion these base concepts are key in videos like this. What is it exactly and why are we using it. I'm even more confused now than I was before the video about these things.

Sorry that you feel this way as I thought I explained it quite well, but I'll try again: JetEngine Glossaries make it super easy to pick things from a list without typing them over and over again. Imagine you have a big box of crayons, and you need to pick your favourite colours every time you draw. Instead of finding the crayons again and again, you keep a smaller box with your favourite ones. Glossaries are like that smaller box - they save your favourite words or choices (like colours, names, or items), so you can quickly use them anytime you need.

@@websquadron so you mean instead of typing it time and again in a meta field? Got it. Tnx for clarifying. However, aren't there meta fields that also give you options / predefined choices in the same way? I'm still confused though how they also can be used for filters and sorting stuff. That is where it gets blurry as well for me - when to use instead of taxonomies, but this is probably one of those "once it clicks, it's suddenly really simple" kind of things. ChatGPT got me even more confused. But let me finish the lessons, maybe it will get clearer. Tnx for the response and info.

It would have been great if you explained why you turned down taxonomies and decided to do glossaries instead? After failing to implement taxonomies, I understand why: 1) You can't choose taxonomy as the data source directly in the post type field (the only solution I have found is using Query Builder). 2) You should make an additional step by creating queries in the query builder. 3) When you set everything up there is no guarantee it will work. I must have missed something because there are no options for the checkbox where I set Query Builder, Terms, Taxonomy as the data source.

The tutorial is mostly an explanation but the video practice is skipped and incomplete.
