I love her saying that Africa- Nigeria has no Heros. I always say Africa need more Karens. America might need less of them but at this point in time, we need African Karens- people who expose and call things out. We also need people to be willing to die for the continent. Thomas Sankara was a hero, Nkwrama Nkruma was a Hero, Gaddafi was a Hero, Ibrahim Traore is a Hero, General Tchiani is a Hero, Asim Goita is a Hero. We need more on the continent , I am so Proud of these men. There are also women Heros on the continent. I would add that Chimamanda is also a hero, a personal hero of mine, Dr Arikana Chihombori Quoao is an absolute Hero and a gem. I know there are many others . So proud of all of your work and so proud of all of you. A big thank you, you are an inspiration to so many.

There have been so many hero's in Africa up to now as you speak , you need to read more to know what they did for their countries and societies , i see you have mentioned just a few who are just starting their work , this is how you can find them easily (A) Tribal chiefs all over Africa who resisted colonialism and oppression of the African people (B) Anti colonial leaders ,JK Nyerere , Samora Machel , Lumumba ,Mandela and many others (C) African professionals who have done important work for their countries and Africa eg Professor Wangari Mathai from Kenya ,Ellen Johnson Sirleaf from Liberia....Having said that you also need to do your part to advance the continent of Africa

@LeggyReid4c @@citylinkproject9901It's quite unfortunate to see you all listing all this names and did not even add the most important one, The great CHINUA ACHEBE, the king and pioneer of African literature, The leading advocate of Africans writing their own stories and changing false narrative.. Whose created the majority of most African proverbs we all uses today, one of the famous one is ( "Until lions have their own historians, the history of the hunt will always glorify the hunter". ) Very pro African to the core and a humanitarian.

There is hope for Nigeria. The only way is change in leadership. The old Nigerian Leadership mentality of submission to the British Monarchy consciously or unconsciously must stop. The Western, and even Russian political strategy of divide and rule all over Africa must be defeated. In my point of view there is no light at the end of the tunnel, except by Devine interference.

She is very correct because God's laws are about community and relationship - being able to truly live and thrivingly. Everyone has got to be accountable and responsible. In God's system, by the way, if you read Leviticus, the sin of a leader, especially a religious leader, is considered bigger than an individual's because it causes the whole community to sin. This is just what she has described about everyone else following suit and bending over just because it is a religious leader who has erred. They are all sinning because it is a religious leader leading them there. The restitution for that one in Leviticus even has to go into the Holy place of God in the Tabernacle because it is not considered a light sin. It covers the whole community, and it is treated as if the whole community has erred. Thank you Adichie for not folding over. Yes, I understand there has to be forgiveness but that forgiveness comes after the error has been brought put into the light and dealt with. Then the forgiveness is natural and easy. I love that she us dealing with it transparently - walking in the light!

I listened with interest until she said she felt shame while visiting Rwanda, on listening how Rwanda legal system is supposedly shaming Nigeria. I come from East Africa and I tell you this: No Nigerian should feel shame on relation to Rwanda. Two simple reasons: Rwandans have allowed their president to put in the constitution that he cannot be prosecuted even for treason once he leaves office. Second, Rwandan president has been involved in genocide in Congo for decades. I worry when an African as intelligent as this lady shows this level of illiteracy on the biggest moral question facing Africa: the wars in Congo. The law does not exist in Rwanda. A country running on the rule of law with the highest aid in Africa, stealing Congolese minerals day and night but still on 800 dollars gdp per head, this illustrious lady thinks it is a case study for the future of Africa? God have mercy on us!

Being intelligent does not mean you know it all or that you can't make mistakes. I hope she sees your comment though and takes note of the correction. But this does not in anyway diminish her intelligence.

If you were paying attention well you would have noticed that her admiration of your country is based on a specific aspect of law that addresses violence against women. She never said the entire country and it's leadership should be emulated or applauded. You need to be a more careful listener so you don't fly off the hook.

What's the solution to the migration from the East due to the insurgence? How can only two people from your tribe be heroes in Nigeria?
@ashleyokaekwu6848
@ashleyokaekwu6848 Ай бұрын
People refer to others as heroes when you think to yourself "oh I want to be like this person" Dora was a strong woman so it's a no brainer she is a hero to another strong woman, plus woke Soyinka is not her tribe. Wole is a powerful writer so of course he is someone she would have gone "oh I want to be like this person for". Your heroes are people you see a piece of yourself or who you want to be in

This's the type of question you should be asking the the northern cabal who created the insurgencies and the insecurity that that has destroyed the country. The sort of insurgency you see today in the entire southern region is a direct response to the ones created over the years by the fulanis.

It is an aberration to compare the government with the church. There is always accountability of any money that the pastor raise in the church. And on the other hand, the church uses this money for development. It is very evident in every aspect of the church: schools, hospitals, colleges and even high institutions. The church is largely behind major development in the country. So the calling out the church as money conscious is not exactly right. The criticism does not tell the entire story. But the interesting thing is that this is not the worst thing that has been said about the church. This is the least worries of the church. Look at the edifice that the priest and the people of God labor to erect. The local church has the responsibility to help all the major seminaries and institutions in the country. The white man is no longer supporting the church. The church is local and therefore will be supported by locals. For those who want a name it is easy to latch onto the low hanging fruits. But the comparison between the church and the government is completely unparalleled.

It's a big shame that she tarnished the image of one of Nigeria greatest mind and heroine ( Prof Dora Akunyili ) just for her selfish interests, millions of Nigerians loved that woman" the same she claimed was considered troublesome, she is another tribal addict hiding behind big big English and speeches" she believes all that defines us as Africans is Language, tribe, ethnicity invented to had us divided us a People, she has no morals or wisdom that individual like me can tap into, Oh No, she's not different from the soulless leader's we have in Nigeria today that thinks our lives and existence are defines by language, tribe, ethnicity and if given the opportunity to rule Nigeria she will do exactly like them!!!
