Seems like you're talking yourself into a grave there mate. Video is wonderful in it's ability to delete all the mistakes and do overs and only show the good stuff. I used to tell myself I can't draw, then I got an eraser and literally, overnight, I'm now a brilliant artists. Pretty good at jig saw puzzles to...just need to be determined to finish it and be prepared to be constantly disappointed in yourself for picking the wrong piece, which is more than made up for when you do find the right piece....over and over again.

Now you can put this in the regular size lather chuck and machine those ridiculously micro-sized parts, you know, sub-millimeter screws, etc. As so many others have said, amazing work. Kudos.
@autumn559226 күн бұрын
I would rather use a collet; grips harder, more distributed pressure (less damage to the part), larger gripping area (so less axial load in the part/less deflection.) Only advantage this would have over a collet is it could hold squares. But even then I would modify a collet (seriously they are dirt cheap) or make a sleeve for the collet before I would opt for something like this.
@codyhufstetler64326 күн бұрын
And then use it to machine an even smaller chuck, and then use that to make a smaller chuck...
