With the registry, my advice would be: don’t be afraid to put on good-quality items that may be a bit more expensive. You want certain items, especially dishes and cookware, to last your lifetime.

💯 agree. My cookwear is 16 years old almost, and looks still in good shape. It still cooks good. I highly suggest getting good cookwear from the beginning. LoL

Thats crazy, why not save your own money and buy the more expensive stuff yourself instead of putting it on your guests to spend a lot of money. If you can't afford it don't get married yet.

Just a thought, when we had our wedding 38 years ago, instead of wedding cards,, we asked our guests to bring us one of their favorite recipes, sign by the guest. It's a great way to start and to have those special recipes for years to come is awesome.

When I registered I was into blue and yellow-SO regret! Stick with neutral colors that will last a lifetime as your favorite color tastes and styles change! I save my color changes for pillows, flowers, and paint! 😂 I’ve been married 20 years and I have 3 wedding gifts remaining- a big etched glass flower fruit bowl 💕, a combination glass punch bowl/cake stand ❤️, and a blue and white utensil holder that I keep hidden behind the crock pot 😏! So my friendly advice would be to choose whites, greys, tan, cream, black, glass, etc. that will go with your future flow and maybe one or two items that will last for years that is “in” right now and that you just LOVE! It gives the teenagers and grandkids something to laugh at later but will always bring you happy memories! ❤️ 😂

Y’all are so sweet together! I would say don’t stress so much about the registry. Pick things that you love and classic pieces. I have been married for almost 18 years and still have my white every day dishes. Also incorporate, if you can, family pieces. I love having my late grandmother’s blue glasses and my late mama’s cooking pieces. ❤️

My mom always had Cutco knives when I was growing up. She still has them. I asked her for a set for my wedding, and 14 years later, they are still in brand new shape. I use them all the time. They are expensive, but the quality is amazing, and they have a lifetime guarantee.

Registry advice… register for things that you will use and have for a long time. Caphalon pots and pans, a special Christmas dish pattern, silverware and any other items to stock your kitchen. A Cuisinart stand mixer and vitamix blender will last forever. Also, register for at least 2 crockpots, trust me, they will get used the very first time you host a party. Textiles are nice but wear out over time and styles and tastes change. I still use items we registered for 25 years ago and I remember who gave each item to us! Lastly, use gift cards that you receive to buy the rest of the items on your registry and any linens that you need. Congratulations to you both!🙏

Since you both are adventurous and like the outdoors, one of the most beautiful fall places in Tennessee to have a wedding in my opinion would be Cades Cove. I had a hard time with my registry when I got married as well, even though it was 23 yrs ago. I had my mom help me with most of it since I really didn’t know what to put on it. I started with thinking of what my future kitchen theme would be then went from there with dish towels, pot holders, salt and pepper shakers and things like that. Have fun with it! I’m so glad you guys have a channel now. I loved watching the Bates family so I’m glad I can still keep up with y’all on KZbin. Congratulations on your engagement! 💜

So glad the Bates are starting all their own Vlogs I watched all The Bates shows on TV and so sorry they aren’t on any new ones anymore. Advice about cookware. Ask Erin! As far as the rest of your registry definitely ask the other sisters and wives things they use and like the best out of their wish list presents and things they thought they wanted but discovered they don’t use. I videoed an outdoor fall wedding that used different colored chrysanthemums. Harp music and the outdoor setting made for a beautiful yet simple ceremony that was very meaningful and gorgeous. Best wishes!

Toaster oven is a great item for your kitchen when you’re only cooking for you two. Then you don’t have to use the big oven. It minimizes things.

Top registry items definitely your favorite bowls and plates. My husband and I picked out fiesta ware and got all different colors so we can mix and match when we’re serving meals. It definitely touched on our personalities to do that. We got a lot of entertaining kitchen pieces because we love that. And then got a couple appliances we love using for convenience: instant pot, air fryer, and food processor (with different cutting blades for making quick grated veggies or making potato chips!!). You make food three times a day so pick out some good stuff that works for you!!!! Congratulations on your engagement!!!!💗🙏🏻

Enjoy seeing y’all. Miss the Bates family stories big time. Appliances? Ninja Foodi smart XL grill (air fryer, grill, dehydrator w a thermometer!). ninja toaster/oven stands up as toaster and lays down for oven. Compact. And ninja prof 900 watts blender. That’s the first ninja appliance I got. They are all awesome. The XL grill would be great for newlyweds. Or singles until then! Hope that helps.

Congratulations! My advice for your registry is to register for good quality items as was previously mentioned. Also, if you register for white dishes, any food looks great on them, they do not fade, you can dress up or down with your table accessories and they will always match your decor, even if you change your decor.

My bucket list is to own a Tennessee Walker Horse 🐎 although I can't ride anymore I still love those horses. My family grew up in Crossville Tennessee ❤

Me and my husband will celebrate 16 yrs married this July, and we still have a few things from back then. Our dinnerware set we still have and it was from the target "Home" line which I don't think they have anymore, but their Threshold Brand is good, and the Magnolia line is great too! So absolutely true, Trace! When you know, you know! I met my husband on 12/11/83, I was 18 and he was 22. We met in church and knew God brought us together. We were married on 7/2/84 so we will be celebrating 38 years soon. We have 3 grown kids and have been through many trials, but God grace has sustained us and we are more in love than ever. The fall is a beautiful time of the year.My daughter and son in law were married in November and it was gorgeous. The maple trees were a beautiful red orange, they were married in the chapel at the state botanical garden in Athens, Georgia, and the lower floor was where we had the reception. They had a large patio that with the doors open really increased the space. We had a large tent for the patio and it joined to the building. I would recommend that you have the wedding inside because of the unpredictable temperatures I expect you will have more guest than we had so you will need to probably need to have it in a church that will hold the number of people you expect. It is going to be so much fun to plan your wedding I’m sure your mom’s will be a great help. May God bless you as you plan your wedding and as you go through life.

I think a fall wedding is really cool with a mix of inside and outside. I personally want to do mine in an open barn. That way I can do some things outside and some things inside. The option is open for either.
