The lyrics may not be perfect for a wedding entrance though I love the meaning behind this lyrics. I believe the lessons of the song are: Love yourself, learn to love yourself first (before loving others) and find someone you love who loves you back for being you (the real you). Epiphany is a soulful piece,focusing onto Epiphany, he ensures to recognize that loving oneself is not a child’s play: "Though I may lack, I’m so beautiful. I’m the one I should love." He sees that imperfections hinder all self-love, because the Theory of Mind always threatens our hearts to fear the society’s opinions. However, Jin wants people to look at themselves the way others do. He knows it’s not ideal, but striving to love oneself is the path to life. Epiphany starts off with expressing his gratitude towards somebody else, but the realization of his lack of awareness for his true self hits him. In order to love this certain person, he melted himself in a pot and arose as a new being. And now he wishes to melt back into the form he once was. In the first verse, it’s talking about someone else and how he’s changing himself for that one person to the point that he pretty much has another persona of him. (This is why I always told/believe/just my opinion that you should not change yourself for another person because that person is born selfish and imperfect too.Yes, they can be one of the reason for you to change but what if this person fail/leave you, you will lose yourself in the process. This is the reason why I love this verse Matthew 22:37-40. Loving God and yourself opens doors to loving others, and this message is astutely present in this song. The meaning behind Epiphany is simple yet so intricately designed because loving yourself is said easily, but theory is far from practice. That does not mean that one should lose their sense of self. Because once the feat of self-appreciation is met, the eyes transform to see the world differently. From my perspective, it makes people cry because it teaches us to love ourselves, our whole selves. It teaches us to not hide our true selves behind in order to please others. As life goes on, sometimes we forget to love ourselves, we see ourselves as imperfect and ugly and unworthy of love. So we hide behind our masks and cry when we are alone. If anyone decides to read this, I wish for you to love yourself because “You’re not so perfect but so beautiful. You are the one you should love.” 🤍
