Coming into the industry, I can definitely agree that bridal work is not priced just because it is a "wedding". It not only factors in the labour but a lot of the cost also takes into account to ensure everything that goes into an arrangement or bouquet that it is the highest quality (basically because it will be photographed). And, because we have to ensure this, costs also take into account for purchasing excess material for the florist; for example, we need to take into account that at least two stems in every bunch of roses will be unusable due to damage. I also thought it was funny that you said that Dusty Miller is a lot more expensive than the gum because here in Australia (where eucalyptus comes from) I find it's the other way around.

Even though the video tells part ofthe story, wholesalers will never sell to anyone walking by. They sell to businesses with tax id numbers, so unless you are a business don't attempt to purchase flowers directly. You have very nice arrangements that require a lot of skill and practice, so even if anyone buys the right flowers, you would never get that look in one shot.
