good good set up very strange that the video audio was good and clear, then suddenly hard hearing starts to kick in what equipment did you use ? :-) hahahahhaha

i said what equipment i used in the video but i am also going to go through every piece of equipment and do little demos/reviews of them :)

+CJDJS Discos not the equipment mate, you have explained about your gear, but when it comes to the wedding itself, the audio suddenly drops ☺
@CJDJSDiscos
@CJDJSDiscos 8 жыл бұрын
yeah thats because Mike didnt turn up the gain while editing so the audio dropped and also i had the gain on the camcorder set to low so there was no distortion from the subs xD

Great setup man! Just curious, why not use your subs as speaker stands? I know coupling them makes for more bass, but you didn't couple them either?
@CJDJSDiscos
@CJDJSDiscos 8 жыл бұрын
well the thing is, I have always preferred to hide the subs behind the screen as it looked neater and also if at any stage i was on the same level on the floor as everyone else and they was drunk outta their minds while holding drinks in their hands and they want to talk to me (by leaning over the booth) the screen makes a brilliant protector so if any spillages occur, the drinks will not splash the subs!

Makes sense! I might have to start doing that too! (Once I get my second sub)

Great Job!! When I use subs on a platform like you were on I put my subs on the floor about a ft away from the stage it will add to the DB. Playlist from the clients are a double edge sword I'll tell you that. many times the client does not know what dance music is just good listening music, there's a difference. Experience with different type crowds and studying all types of music is an absolute must. All to often young dj's struggle because they know very little about 50's through 80's music.

Eddie E. MYTEXASDJ Like I said to a previous comment, I like all of my equipment all in one place and don't like having subs on the floor and the rest of the setup on the stage. It still sounded outstanding on the dance floor even though the subs were on the stage! I maybe young but I still know all of my 90s, 80s, 70s and some 60s and 50s. Thanks for the comment!

+CJDJS Discos Awesome man, good effort. I recommend a haze machine which can make your lights so much better than they already were. Keep on going and you'll be pretty cool! Just allocate $500-$700 (good ones) or something cheaper and your lights will be awesome. Also get a 1w laser as a centrepiece for discos. Trust me, they make it look pretty cool.
@CJDJSDiscos
@CJDJSDiscos 8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the positive response! I will be buying a laser and a haze machine at somepoint! Don't worry 😉
@snowvalleyrat
@snowvalleyrat 8 жыл бұрын
I never bring my haze machine for two reasons, 1. because they just draw too much power! And finding out what outlets are on what circuit breakers is a pain. 2. they set off some fire alarms!
@chriswallsecondary5542
@chriswallsecondary5542 8 жыл бұрын
Frank Pirolo A solution to that is asking the client how much power outlets are available and if there aren't enough near your position bring a long extension cord or even a generator if it is available.. Fire alarms are just a risk you are going to have to take. You want to impress the client and show off your lights correctly, right? You can always turn off the fire alarm if it goes off!

Don’t u need to put the subwoofers on the floor so u can feel the vibration s when dancing otherwise no one is going to feel the bass except the dj
@CJDJSDiscos
@CJDJSDiscos 6 жыл бұрын
ks lawn care Well in theory yes you are correct there but even when they was on the stage you could still feel and hear a great bass response very well which I was surprised about. I wouldn't have the subs on the floor on their own and the rest of the setup on the stage anyway. I like everything all in one place :)
