What do you think is the biggest fashion faux pas that should never be broken?!

Clothes that don’t fit properly. Sometimes just a little alteration can make a big difference.

Another big faux pas for me is clothes that are super wrinkled, like they just came out of the package. Steaming is so quick and easy and makes a big difference.

@MissMooreStyle2 жыл бұрын
@@girlielampria9340 you definitely can wear black to any wedding, it used to be considered a faux pas, but I dont think it is anymore. I think. especially in the case of a black tie wedding, black would be appropriate since usually black tie weddings happen in the evenings and they are more formal

Wearing white to a wedding, unless requested on the invitation.
@doloresleyva88102 жыл бұрын
I come from Hispanic culture and as far as I have ever known weddings are for getting decked out! Most all wedding receptions are held in a large hall with a formal look and sit down dinner so guests are expected to dress up. Women wear dresses some formal some not colors in red , black and whatever colors but do try to avoid all white. Men wear a button shirt tie and slacks or if a little more casual they wear a cowboy style with long sleve shirt, nice boots and hat. People like close family as part of or I guess tradition do try to match the wedding colors but maybe just a matching blouse or jacket or tie and children are usually matching. We buy new shoes new dresses and get all dolled up like if we were in the wedding ha ha. Not to outshine anyone but only because it's the time we first get to meet the other family and friends of the bride and groom and we want to shine at first impression. Clothes are appropriate for the season though and in good taste as most are religious ceremonies. Mexican weddings are usually a few days of celebration so the day before or after the wedding we downsize our attire but still dress up. Haha I guess we have some original and traditions that are different but none the less we all show up and party like rock stars!!
@MissMooreStyle2 жыл бұрын
I love that! I went to my friend’s wedding in NM a couple years back and she is Mexican…it was definitely a bit more of a casual/cowboy style wedding since they had it on their family’s ranch. I love that the default is to get very dressed up though…I think in general in society today people are too casual and we need some more occasions in life to get all dolled up! I definitely always do when I go to a wedding. Sometimes that means I’m the most dressed up person there but I don’t care hah

Another tip that was missed was to take into consideration the season for colour options!
@MissMooreStyle3 жыл бұрын
Perhaps. But that’s not so important at least to me…these days and especially for 2021, bold, saturated bright colors are in style even for fall/winter fashion. I think people (and fashion in general) is starting to trend toward any color being fair game no matter the season.
@Carolina-rd3gh3 жыл бұрын

Formal attire in a wedding in Cancun this January. What should I wear? Help! Glad I chanced upon your video.
@MissMooreStyle11 ай бұрын
If it’s in Cancun I’m gonna guess it’s a beach wedding? I’d go for a flowy maxi dress in a chiffon, satin, or silk, think any fabric that feels a little more luxe and formal than say a maxi dress that you could wear for daytime. Formal but at a beach wedding always seems a little less than the formal you’d do in a different setting, if that makes sense?

What happened to the good ol' days when a wedding invitation NEVER specified what the guests should wear ? I had my wedding at a local country club back in 2012, and, we didn't put a stipulation on what our guests should wear. I was more concerned with having them to ACTUALLY be AT my wedding (Some guests had to drive or travel from waaay far - off.) without making it seem like I was concerned with what they were going to wear there. It may be the "IN" thing now, but, I think people should be less concerned with what their guests are gonna wear, and, more concerned with whether they will attend and be comfortable at the occasion. Plus, if the invitation says semi - formal or formal, some guests may not be able to afford such attire - they might have to SKIP the wedding altogethe !!! . 😯

hmm.. gotta say I feel quite lost when zero wishes about attire get communicated and it isn’t super obvious by venue-choice or such. It bears the risk of over-/underdressing or other unfitting attire. At my so far only experience as a guest - despite asking and being told attire is totally up to us - I was the only female guest our age not wearing a full-on floor-length ballgown (something I would never chose for a wedding without being told to). It seems to be standard wedding attire in their rural area but my husband and I had no clue (no huge drama but uncomfortable and I tried to not “disturb” too many of their fotos). Now comes our second wedding as guests - no guidelines even upon request - and I’m nervous. At our wedding there was no obligatory dress code but we loosely communicated that we hoped for fancy dress below the extent of ballgowns/black/white tie and (to people we were closest to or when asked) that people were super welcome but in no way obliged to wear autumnal colours. Everyone looked so gorgeous and everyone who knows and loves us knew that we wanted them there even if they did not have typical fancy attire or would feel uncomfortable in it (and they did come in their best attire and looked great).

My dress for my cousin’s wedding is a silken red with orange tones ball gown i got scared when i saw « red » was an off limit color but the couple told me they had no dress code and the venue is like a small castle so even though they are laid back people it matches the venue. I don’t know what to think, but my dress has already been made 😅 i hope they won’t find it disrespectful
@MissMooreStyle8 ай бұрын
That sounds so pretty! Did the couple specifically tell you red was off limits to them, or did you hear it somewhere that it’s a general no no to wear red to a wedding? I feel like that’s an outdated rule tbh. I’m 35 and got married 5 years ago and I don’t think I knew about this “rule” then and I certainly wouldn’t have cared if someone wore red. So I think as long as the bride and groom specifically haven’t told you they don’t want people wearing red, you will be fine!

@MissMooreStyle2 жыл бұрын
Wow that is confusing! Is it starting in the later afternoon and going into the evening? In cases like this I’d do some recon and check out what the venue looks like…tho I’m guessing bc it’s a brewery it will probably look like a pretty casual spot, but maybe they have some intentions of dressing the place up to make it feel more fancy? In any case, I think you can’t go wrong here with a cocktail dress or maybe a maxi dress that feels more elevated…assuming you’re a woman since you’re watching this video ;)
@sc15922 жыл бұрын
@@MissMooreStyle it starts at 4. From the pictures online it’s a very urban setting with a pretty outdoor space that has twinkle lights but definitely still looks like a brewery. That’s ok! Just go for your most fancy-feeling cocktail dress, and give it some accessories that dress it up too. That’s weird…I’ll have to look into that but what I’d suggest is this is your moment to go all out…going with something floor length is your best bet, in a fabric that has a bit more of a dressed up feel like satin, sequins, silky fabrics, etc!
