Speaking as an educator myself, I think there's a big difference between being qualified and being experienced, and I think a lot of impostor syndrome goes away when you have more experience (in my experience, lol). You are very well qualified to be a sex educator, but you might lack experience of actually doing it (at least face to face - you've been doing it for years on KZbin, but that will feel a lot different to being in a classroom). At some point you have to just get out there. Accept you will make mistakes and then learn from them. ❤

How one poaches an egg: Fill a pan full of water and boil it. When boiling, crack an egg into the pan (or into a glass or plastic cup cause apparently it's easier). Leave to cook in the water for like 3-5 minutes or until the white is cooked depending on how you like the yolks. You now have a poached egg.

Microwave method: Put about a tablespoon of water in a microwaveable bowl. Crack an egg in the bowl, cover and microwave for several seconds; literally less than ten. Let the heat disperse slightly. Microwave for a few more seconds. Check if the white is fully cooked. Repeat the last three steps until your egg is done (should take less than a minute total microwaving time). Don't just put the cracked egg in the microwave and walk away, because it will cook much faster than you expect then suddenly pop and you'll have to clean hardened egg off your microwave.

First off, you have EXCELLENT taste in Hamilton songs! Now, about imposter syndrome. I agree with one commenter that sometimes what it takes is time - to gain more experience and feel more confident in what you’re doing. However, one thing that really fast tracked that feeling for me was directing a play. Now, obviously, this won’t work for lots of people because not everyone is a theater artist (and not all theater artists can/want to direct.) But what I took from that experience was familiarity with what it felt like to make a decision and see it carried through without a lot of time spent on *~discussion~*. (Talking more about the tech end, as actors gonna actor and there is often lots of discussion there, as it should be.) People would come to me with a question, I would tell them what to do and they would go do it. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW GOOD THAT FELT! The play was a success and a few months later I really started to notice that I had a lot more confidence in my day job and I felt like a fraud on the inside way less often. What I think can be taken from that as a practical step is that if you’re able to take on a project in a field you have reasonable proficiency in, and in which your decisions would effectively be unquestioned, I think that can help a lot, especially after it’s successful conclusion. What that project is really will depend on the person’s interests and skills. But I think this experience can be adapted to almost anyone. Failing that, it’s okay to just sit with it. You have imposter syndrome, but you’re faking it and maybe it doesn’t feel good on the inside, but it’s okay to feel our feelings. We’re really quick to try to explain or improve or forget our negative emotions, but sometimes you have to instead forgive yourself for feeling this way. Understand that this feeling is largely held by women and girls and that it’s a product of the patriarchy. I saw a video in which MICHELLE FREAKING OBAMA talked about dealing with imposter syndrome, and man, if she feels it then maybe that will help a few folks understand that the way we see ourselves is not always accurate. And that we don’t have to beat ourselves up for not having the big picture.
