Question: Who keeps the money given to the dancers?

It usually goes to the couple or it might be used towards some of the wedding costs. Some of it will be gifted to the bride's Aunty (the Queen) though because of her higher status and presence there

To the couple. And it should only be the couple to be honest. Not to anyone else. Regardless of status. Each to their own.

@@ltmg9832 The Queen is also the Fahu of the bride so either way regardless of Status it will go to her out of respect to tradition and culture. ( Also having a Royal at a wedding if a big deal so they do have to show respect by giving gifts to acknowledge her presence)

Why the bride an groom way off to the left of the stage? And not in the middle?
@silafakatou18394 жыл бұрын
Because the Queen of Tonga is present, along with the Princess.

@@Joe8620 I know. That’s the killer con part of Tongan tradition.

As a matter of fact. It really should be the other way around. They really should be in the middle and the princess should be on the side. I have been to a wedding where the princess’ daughter was present years ago at a wedding and she was seated on the side. Not in the middle. Whoever was in charge here on this part didn’t do well on this department and made a stupid decision. And I’m Tongan and I don’t agree with this arrangement, however if the couple are happy and it doesn’t bother them, then okay..but at least someone should’ve said or suggested something
