One of the biggest things I’ve learnt, is you can let your budget and the wedding run away with you. Especially when having African and Asian weddings. I also think you can have a planner/designer on any budget. There’s no shame in having a small budget wedding and that doesn’t mean that the budget isn’t healthy, it’s just what works for you.

Got married a month ago and I literallllllly feel at ease knowing I’m not the only one that still gets bothered when I think back on the things that didn’t go the way I planned🥲. Sandra, I feel your pain girl! Knowing you spent on things that weren’t used on your special day is the absolute worst! The Type A girlies definitely needed this, thank you ladies!🌹❤️

As a past bride (our wedding was 5 years ago 😱), I TOTALLY identify with what Sandra said! Our wedding day was great, but I am also a planner/spreadsheet gal and I know things could’ve been a bit better. Just like Sandra and the goodie basket, for some reason nobody could find my entire cupcake stand when I knew which box it was IN and where because I placed it there! They said it “just wasn’t there” and with my phone taken from me, they placed my 100 cupcakes and cake topper flat on a table 😐Once the wedding and honeymoon were over I found the stand. In the same box i placed it in. Apparently They looked next to the box and didn’t look IN the box. 🤦🏽‍♀️ as time goes on these things don’t matter, but in the moment it’s kind of a big deal, lol😅

My hubby and I always wanted to have an A frame tent at our wedding reception party but we knew that our budget couldn't get there. I had made my peace with this, but still had this idea of doing a wedding reception shoot before the guests came in anyway. The EVENING before my wedding, our assigned videographer who I had shared my vision with dropped because he was apparently called in for a work assignment from his other job (which he had not previously told me he had). He said that there would be another wedding photographer who would deliver quality. At this point there was nothing I could do anyway. On the day of, I came to discover that my parents surprised us with the wedding reception of our dreams, but it turns out that our photographer had not shared the vision we had with his new photographer friend. So, despite now having the A frame of our dreams with an extremely elegant set up from our caterer, the videographers did not take the pictures of the tent before guests came in. In fact, we arrived at the venue before them despite having given them a car. They missed out on SO many pictures we wanted, even the tent aside. I had shared a mood board with this photographer, but he did not share it with his new replacement so they were going blind. He hasn't apologised to date, in fact he is just being sketchy. I picked this guy because I thought that since he was known to both the grooms family and mine he wouldn't backfire on us. I'm get so angry every time I have to watch those videos, yet they're all we have to remember the day.

Great video! Thank you ladies! I’m a 2024 bride and I don’t have a wedding planner as the venue I have chosen has an on-site event manager and my mother and maid of honour have been supporting me. I honestly not that stressed, in fact, I feel I have very little to do now that deposits have been put down for all vendors and RSVPs have been sent out. Feels like a waiting game. Lol this video makes me question if I’m missing something? 😩😅❤
