Wedgemont Glacier 360. Wedgemount Lake Campground

Attempt to summit Wedge Mountain via the central route through the Wedgemont Glacier. This hike offers an exciting and rewarding adventure for any outdoor enthusiast. At an elevation of 1900 meters, there is a beautiful campground near a Wedgemount Lake. For those seeking more of a challenge, there are five peaks surrounding the lake that can be climbed with sufficient skills. The highest of them all is Wedge Mountain, standing at 2903 meters.
To reach the summit, you must first cross a sizable glacier, after which there are three main routes to choose from: North East Arete Route, Half Arete Route, and West Ridge Route. We opted for the central route, but lacking ice screws for safety anchors, after several attempts, we couldn’t find a safe passage. The next day, we took the longest route, the West Ridge Route, which circles the mountain and leads to the summit from the opposite side, significantly lengthening the journey.
