Yes and no. The piranhas would've probably been docile if the jocks had remained calm, but their frantic splashing as they panicked might very well have triggered such behavior.

What I don't like is how Pugsley is shown to be a weakling in this show. The Pugsley I remember is often just as deranged and mischievious as his sister, and he can also withstand deathly amounts of abuse, while remaining either completely oblivious to the fact that he is being harmed, or in same cases, he actually seems to enjoy getting hurt.

They are probably an unknown species of piranhas her family had at the house that can withstand the effects of chlorine. That said, it is possible that being put in chlorine water is why they went berserk and tried to attack anything it could bite into.

Piranhas aren't actually bloodthirsty like this in real life. Watch a documentary and this should be explained. Kind of like how Hollywood portrays sharks, spiders, and other creatures to look far more monstrous as a cliche.

Superb intro..🐦‍⬛so much to unpack.. 1. She wouldn't have known the identities of the bullies if she didn't have the vision, which would play heavily in the series.. 2. She said she's going to do what she does best, the subtext answer, "revenge".. 3. It was either be expelled or brought up on charges for attempted murder.. which she said would make her look bad because she didnt get the job done.. A. If she wanted to kill them, she could have by electrucuting them in the pool, probably or B. use her knowledge of poisons.. regardless, this scene was a way to establish her character and it sent her to go to Nevermore for the main setting. 3. That quote about high school and sadism is so smart and on point it's scary.. 4. If those bullies had tortured Wednesday instead, they would have done more than tie her up and stuff her in the locker..and stuff her mouth with something.. it would likley have been way more "rapey".. so the show is actually way more tame and commercial.. given than alternative scenario.. but then again. Wednesday either wouldn't have let them do it because she can fight and macgyver her way out of it otherwise, she, thing, uncle fester and Lurch would have gone medieval on the deserving perpetrators.. and 5. Jenna looks so awsm as the titular character.. she embodies her so well for this generation.. in a way, it empowers young women with a sense of confidence to embrace their beauty, sense of strangeness, gifts and manage their emotions or sense of strength.. she is actually an anti-hero of sorts and endears her to both boys, girls and outcasts.. all to the tune of her monster like heavy footsteps, that contradicts her having such a dainty frame.. as her cello score commandingly plays in background..reaching the coda, being that of the Édith Piaf / aria.. whilst the piranha are set loose which are symbolic of Wednesdays own tenacity, ferocity and indifference as they make their way thru their watery element to rid the jocks of their ability to procreate and show a little more respect to the true hidden apex predators, namely Wednesday.. the "freak" who evens the score.. ironically, society sides with the true danger in society, guys who ignorantly site rules like a closed practice but break every other rule like bully or harass or insult the Addams kids.. what do u expect from adolescents who think they run the place that was described in the beginning narration.. she definitely needed to go to monster high, Nevermore where she can atleast be among those who are frighteningly able to accept her as she is but who also still ahve their own sense of the same issues that plague that school structure.. regardless, great intro and series and star turn for the perfectly casted ,acted and beloved Ortega.. giving the ones who were odd and outcasred a sense of their own beauty and dark poet astheitics sensibilities and validity... Charles Addams would be proud.. Tim Buton is back in full form.. and a cultural sensation we haven't seen since Hermoine and Harry.. I look forward to an encore follow-up for Season 2!! 🐦‍⬛ quote the raven, Nevermore..
