I like the fact that for the first time ever, the directors made this character vulnerable to emotions that she doesn't want to feel. She was scared or confused when she realized that she cared about someone (like when Enid left). Wednesday glared defiantly at the psycologist, when she pointed her out that a so called "evil" person, wouldn't care for a friend in the hospital. The same happened, when the evil teacher said that she knew she missed Enid. Wednesday is scary and is not scared of monsters but clearly, she is scared of her own heart. I don't know if this was intentional, but Wednesday is excellent representation for people on the autism spectrum. Autistic people sometimes get mistaken for robots, sociopaths and/or psychopaths because we don't have "normal" emotional responses. Like Enid said: "I know she gives off serial killer vibes, but she's really just shy." Wednesday's reaction to that line was perfect. You can see in her eyes that she wants to cry even though her expression doesn't change. Also, Wednesday directly says this: "I know I'm stubborn, single-minded and obsessive." That's autistic people in a nutshell. Once we find a hyper-fixation, we're fanatical about it for long periods of time. In Wednesday's case, it's the murder mystery and she got so invested that Enid had to directly point out that her hyper-fixation had transitioned from obsessive to outright dangerous.
