Lilly Lazer I grew up in a hugh IRISH Family 8 kids. Wasn't much fun when younger. At Parties all the Adults were drinking & smoking. Im Proud us kids knew our limits with Alcohol. Both Mom & Dad had IRISH Names O'GRADY - KELLY mom side gave us kids 16 first cousins. Boy did I stand out my face was covered with freckels. Freckels in IRELAND are called ANGEL KISSES. My parents let me go to Led Zeppelin concert with 80,000 fans at age 12. It really was crazy seeing my Parents waste there life drinking all the time. Had 1 sister learned IRISH Dance. Im a Pisces I was born to like Rock N Roll Music. And boy did I got to see Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Allman Brothers, got to see Lynyrd Skynyrd before plane crash, also saw David Cassidy from the Partridge Family. Hate to break it to you there's a difference between spanking and beating
@iprobablyforgotsomething
@iprobablyforgotsomething 3 жыл бұрын
There is a difference. Or at least, there should be. But in practice, there really wasn't back then, for far too many parents. Leaving behind bruises that lasted days, if not longer, maybe small cuts if they used a belt etc. that had sharp-edged decorations (on accident or on purpose), kids not being able to sit w/o pain for the rest of the day... That was a common "middle ground" spanking for many, between "too-light lovetaps" and "deliberate injury so appalling the parent doesn't let the kid outside again till they heal". It's a so-called middle ground that still tilts wildly towards unacceptable abuse, but as long as there were no emg trips to the doc required, or busybody neighbors to see, it was the measure of acceptibility many parents used as a guideline back then. : /

Apparently he spent so much time imagining that he was talking with Toons that he actually started seeing Toons... But when I tell religious people to get help for the stuff that their religious brainwashing makes them see and hear, I get told that "It is real to me" and _I_ am apparently the one being rude and offensive with my advices, despite the fact that _they_ are the ones trying to impose religious dogmas upon me and my neurodiverse family full of LGBTQ+ people as law, because that's what we need: A fuggin' theocracy... @__@

I have to say, I really admire Wednesday's innocent, yet disturbing personality. It strikes the perfect balance of macabre and charm. I feel like Christina Ricci could have pulled off a character like this too, wasn't really a fan of how they transformed the character into a monotone, brooding, goth teen in the 90s movies (not to knock anyone's performance ofc).

I feel like it makes sense for the character in the films being older. (I also think a lot of Wednesday's behaviour in the films, second one especially, is a bit of an act that she puts on around people who aren't part of the family...when she's with the family, while she's still creepy, she hugs them and seems to be genuinely having fun swordfighting with Pugsley, blowing things up with Fester, etc...)

And plus, Christina Ricci's Wednesday is an early teenager, not a 6 year old, so it wouldn't have worked properly if they got Christina to act like a 6 year old when she was about 13. And plus, Christina's Wednesday stayed much truer to the old Charles Addams cartoons, because Wednesday wasn't really a "cutie" in them either!

My parents never did this to me, even when the principal told them what I did, but it wasn't pretty once home, even though they never believed in corporal punishment so I still think that I was lucky... However, my uncle went too far at some point and he's got the belt ( we call it the strap ) from my grandpa, but it was during the 50s and such discipline ways were a common thing back then, the cops were never stepping in, at least he's got his lesson, now he's a doctor...

I wish her and John could have been together outside the show, but she died knowing how he really felt all long and he found that out too. I love that they got their backstage kisses when the 60’s era shows wouldnt allow people to kiss on the lips in television. Doesn't sense since they allowed John to kiss hey whole body… but a peck on the lips is out of the question.
