Wow! Through hand five and Gavin is on fire! Fun! Now back to the rest of the hands.

What is the goal of this broadcast? Demonstrate how to make good bridge bids and plays or is it to win the tournament against robots? I love the analysis based on good bridge principles. A great example was the discussion on board 2 of whether to rebid hearts or bid diamonds : a diamond bid in real life showing 6h and 4 diamonds.most of the discussion is excellent but making bids in light of best hand tourney would seem to set bad example for kibitzers unless you point out what correct bridge bid is. I enjoy watching your videos . Keep up the good work.

I just realized from watching the replay: the 6H contract on Bd 5 should have been set. East won the first trick and didn't lead back a diamond for West to ruff. South had bid 4Cl showing the ace, so the club return couldn't possibly work.

Sorry I didn't get to see this live. I love this show. But .... could Gavin slow down a little? Especially when he starts talking about what opponents could have and how it could affect things. This seems like a key part of getting better at bridge but it would help me if one of you could explain how you are figuring this out. (Maybe ask some other viewers if they agree) On hand 7 you wrote cards in with a pen. Thats helpful! Thanks for the great lessons!

Hi Peter, I certainly can try to slow it down. It's very difficult to find a balance. When I break down a single hand for a video it takes me about 15 minutes at a moderate pace. We are doing an 8 hand tournament that we try to fit into an hour. So my choice sometimes is either to not say anything or to say it briskly. Either way I will take your feedback into account. Thx for watching.

@@wolpertbridge Thanks! It's also hard because i think you have viewers at various levels. Too bad bridge doesn't have a sensible rating system. In chess, for example, you could say "this less is for 1400 players" and everyone knows what to expect. In any case, I'll keep watching.

@@wolpertbridge Gavin I like the speed you do it. You can always go back and just rehear what you said. Having the explanations of the hands be pretty fast is good for going over the hand again, because all the information you need is in a condensed part of the video. Having a long explanation, it can be tedious to go back over because it's harder to find where the relevant information is.

@@wolpertbridge Yeah to me it's not a problem because for anything that isn't clear, I can just watch the video or replay it.
