Woody does get his fair share. It's that he has so much anxiety and is afraid of the kits. He's not used to humans just like any other wild animal and is just being very cautious.

Many countries have culled their entire mink and fox fur farms because apparently at least minks can transmit covid to humans very easily. I wonder if that's the case with raccoons.

DayDreamer68 Woody is afraid sometimes to come at the top of the stairs and won’t always pass other raccoons, the other raccoons are a little bullish to him and he’s very timid and stays at the bottom of stairs like last night. I am glad he built courage tonight to get food. He did take a hot dog from James one time, for some reason he has trust issues, no telling why being wild. He needs help with that.

And people don’t realize with that many raccoons it gets chaotic and crazy, you don’t necessarily know who got what but you do the best you can. I feed a large group every night and I do worry some got more then others but the complainers probably aren’t feeding so they shouldn’t criticize.

We had 2 females with 2 babies each a few years back...the mommas didn't really get along but 'tolerated' each other at feeds...then sadly one momma got hit on the main road a block from us, and I was in fits worrying about the babies.....Two nights later, they showed up with the other mom & her 2 like they were one big family!!-- and they were still at that 'still kinda nursing' age. I was DELIGHTED!! I just wonder who's baby Pepper found? What was the circumstance of her finding a lone straggler....

Dear Jim, greetings from Houston, Texas. I started watching your videos when I was sick with the corona virus. Thank you for your videos! They were a source of comfort for me. 1.) We would like to hear you talk more about your life and day to day happenings in your life and Nova Scotia. 2.) Mosquitos here in Texas I'm sure got one up on your Canadian mosquitos! 3.) Jim you are doing a great job. Thank you for supporting wearing masks. I work in a library and have to wear a mask for 7 hours every day and gloves. How hard is it to wear one temporarily esp. if you don't need one for work. Buddy ran away again but at least he came back for a bit to fill up. Patience and Sammy are bottomless pits!

I think Woody is not able to trust because at some point in his life he was lured by food then captured and hurt. Hard life lessons to get over quickly. James you will need to be a very patient raccoon psychologist/whisperer to help Woody trust you. Spend time on him. I also think watching you with the others helps.
