I think there are many reasons. First, Ukrainians are not stupid so they will withdraw if a complete encirclement is imminent. Second, while soldiers can run, they still suffer some casualties on the way out. Third, they will spread the news and will lower the morale of other units. Fourth, some equipment and supplies will be left behind and seized by Russia, instead of being used in a last stand and getting used or destroyed.

Who is Russia Is it the people of Russia or is it the government? Governments are actually the public department of the multigenerational worldwide operating criminal cabal. We experience at the moment them (the cabal) slicing up various parts of Earth in a fashion they desire. Putin is part of the big club. And he is a Jew. Not that I am against Jews but usually their allegiance is to Israel and the Greater Israel project. Of which Syria is part of and Putin, Assad, etc. just handed over Syria to Greater Israel.

War often starts in misperception and illusion, but war can only end by the acknowledgement of hard reality. Ukraine is slouching toward that state now. The moment is inflected by the election of Trump, who has promised a vastly different approach to the war. Ukraine is feeling increasingly intolerable pain. The pain Ukraine is feeling is obvious. Its manpower losses threaten the future of the Ukrainian people; the U.S. has urged the draft age be lowered to 18. There are simply not enough soldiers, and Ukrainian police are dragooning young men who have not registered for the draft off the streets. Russia has been making new and significant territorial gains in Ukraine in recent months. In fact, November 2024 was the best month for Russian advances in two years. The U.S. supply of long-range missiles, with permission to use them within 180 miles into Russian territory plus equally controversial landmines has not turned this tide. Ukraine is at the point where the losses, on the battlefield and off the battlefield, are becoming intolerable. An acknowledgement of that reality is finally arriving. The election of Trump arguably brings those negotiations much closer. Trump has made it plain that he believes the continued support for what Ukraine would deem victory is not in the U.S. national interest. The U.S. is not going to ensure that the Ukrainians regain their lost territory because, realistically, they cannot regain it. Even President Zelenskyy has admitted as much: “Our army lacks the strength to do that. That is true. We do have to find diplomatic solutions.” The large arms deal that the Biden administration hopes to finalize before Biden leaves office will not be honored by Trump. The endgame is now being negotiated by Russia and the U.S. Trump wants a quick deal, it will be done quietly, by a small group of Trump advisors with the closers being Trump and Putin themselves.

@@jesan733 I'm afraid your answer may be mathematically correct, but logically not. Ukraine had about 44M inhabitants in 2022. Now it has about 30M, if that. A year ago, the average age of the Ukrainian army was about 40. Old people predominated in the pictures. For the past year, you've been stuffing into vans everything that breathes and moves and is a little over 25 years old. And now you're going to stuff those aged 18-20 into those same vans? So why don't you hunt those aged 30-35? Those aged 30-35 probably already have children, and those aged 18-20 or 25 need to start their own families. I don't know who is so crazy that they push a fertile (breeding) part of the population into battle if there are those who don't plan to "reproduce" anymore? My dear, only those who don't have older people than them, can't find them or can't catch them do that. Young men aged 18-20 are neither emotionally nor physically mature enough. Pushing them, who have never held a weapon in their hands, is a desperate move, not a sensible move. Recruiting young men aged 18-20 means only one thing: desperation. This move is actually the murder of Ukraine. Killing very esence of it.
