The visuals we see during “Inside of every demon is a rainbow” is actually something everyone in the show can see because that was Charlie using her magic to create those visuals

The really fun bit is that Charlie has never actually seen a rainbow, only had them described to her. So all her depictions of one are recognisable, but wrong.

I don’t think the hierarchy of hell is a spoiler… so here is the official hierarchy and power ranking: 1. Lucifer 2. Charlie and Lilith 3. The other 6 deadly sins (appear in Helluva boss) 4. The ars goetia (Best to watch Helluva boss) 5. Overlords (Alastor for example) 6. Sinners 7. Hellborns (Succubi, Fish demons? and more -> Helluva boss) 8. Imps & Hellhounds (also hellborn but lower hellborn)

This is a hierarchy ranking not a power ranking. There has been no power scaling or ranking since the new show came out and the lore and story had confirmed to have been changed. Most information from the Pilot era and livestreams is no longer confirmed to be canon. Power scaling is nothing but here say and speculation at this point until it is shown in universe or confirmed by a recent source.

It was honestly really nice to see someone watch the first episode without having seen the pilot. I do think the show is made to be watchable (and understandable) without having seen it but with most people already knowing the pilot it was hard to find someone to test this theory on.

in a weird way, im kinda glad that i got to watch the series before the pilot. While it's great that there's a fandom that's stayed loyal for over four years, four years is still one heck of a long time to build up expectations. And some fans along the way, even started to create their own parts of the story which they've kinda relied on as "canon", like the mysterious hazbin hotel fanfiction that's now gone from the internet or the "instagram posts" the characters have made. That, along with creating headcanons that they've come to perceive as canon due to the lack of, well, canon until season 1 came out, which could explain why some of the older fans were more or less, disappointed by the changes made in the series. Expectations often lead to disappointment, especially when it's been built up for a long time.

Yeah, Nifty died in her early twenties, but that was in the 1950s. So she should be around 90 years old now. Vaggie is the youngest in the group - she died in her early twenties in 2014, so she's currently in her early thirties. That's the info you'll find in the internet, but I'm not sure if it's still true. The creator said those things a long time ago, long before the Amazon series came out, so she could have changed it.

I don't know if anyone clarified this, but the events of the Pilot take place a week before the actual show, as evidenced by the dialogue in the show talking about the time. (Alastor saying the hotel was founded five days ago in his advertisement, Vaggie mentioning that Alastor showed up a week ago, and multiple times they stated that the last extermination was a week ago) And as for Charlie and her status, it does come from Lucifer, not Lillith. Lucifer is the ruler of all of Hell, even if Lillith thrived in Hell more than he did. Lucifer is the "Head Honcho", as Katie Killjoy put it, and has the most authority over everyone in Hell. As for power and influence, Charlie does have more power and authority than everyone other than her parents; she just chooses not to use it, but they talk about that more in a later episode, so I won't talk about it too much. Also, Angel Dust (the drug, not the character) is actually a name for phencyclidine or phenylcyclohexyl piperidine (also known as PCP), which is a drug separate from cocaine. Cocaine is a drug that gets you high fast, making you feel euphoric, energetic, talkative, mentally alert, and/or hypersensitive to sight, sound, and touch, and is taken through smoking, snorting, or injecting via a needle. PCP is a separate drug that causes euphoria, joy, anxiety, and/or panic, as well as hallucinations. It was used medicinally in the 1950s, but by the late 60s, it was discovered that it actually caused postoperative dysphoria and hallucinations and is incredibly addictive. (The only reason I know any of this is because doing research for fanfics about characters like Angel can lead you to learn a LOT more about drugs than is normal). And finally, Angel (the character) only takes PCP, at least as far as what's been confirmed, and that is what we see him getting from the vending machine when we first meet him in the Pilot. Anyways, after that long and probably unnecessary infodump, the TL;DR is that Angel Dust (the drug), also known as PCP, is separate from crack, and while they have similar effects, they are not the same, as well as the fact that PCP is the only drug that we can confirm Angel (the character) actually takes. Apologies if any of the information given was incorrect, and if I did get anything wrong, y'all can feel free to correct me on this.

Some more fun facts for ya, the VA for Pilot Angel Dust is Michael Kovach, who also voices N in Murder Drones, Jax in the Amazing Digital Circus, and Rocky from Lackadaisy. The pilot singing voice for Charlie is Elsie Lovelock who voices Uzi in Murder Drones and the Gloink Queen in the Amazing Digital Circus. Also, highly recommend the Addict music video, Insane by Black Gryph0n, and the farewell song the pilot cast did for Hazbin called Thank You and Goodnight if you're interested!

Sinners like Angel Dust and Alastor do have previous lives as former humans, also their appearances match who they were in life and how they died. Angel Dust and his entire family are spider-like demons because they're a mafia family that are connected to webs of crimes. Angel Dust died due to a drug overdose. Alastor was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was a radio host and broadcaster, who is secretly a serial killer. His death was caused by a hunter who shot him in the forehead mistaking him for a deer, while hiding one of the bodies. Also, Charlie Morningstar is the almost the strongest, but her personality is what prevents her from using her powers to her own potential. Charlie is bisexual, before she had her girlfriend Vaggie, she had an ex-boyfriend named Seviathan von Eldritch. Vaggie is a lesbian, there's not much known about Vaggie other than she died in the 2010s and speaks Spanish since she was Salvadorian, which is why she wondered if what Angel said was sexist or racist, after Angel said "Don't get your taco in a twist, baby". Also, about Alastor, he's aro-ace(neither romantic nor sexual attraction).

So while the broad events themselves are definitely canon, some finer details need to be taken with a grain of salt. For example, Katie Killjoy says there's 9 rings in hell, but we know that's no longer the case, and there's only 7, one for each sin.

Slight correction: Katie mentions the 9 Circles, which are different from the 7 Rings. In Helluva Boss, Imp City for example is shown to be in the Second Circle (as stated on a sign). My understanding is that the 9 Circles are like separated districts of the Pride Ring. It hasn’t been confirmed, but my guess is that Pentagram City is in the First Circle. Then Imp City is in the Second, then likely the Ars Goetia have their palaces in one or more of the other Circles, etc.

@@colt1903 Sort of. Sinners are restricted specifically to the Pride Ring, and can’t travel anywhere else, while Hellborn demons can travel throughout the Rings as they please. However, many Hellborn demons have been shown to still have their homes in the Pride Ring, so it’s not strictly Sinner exclusive there. You can tell which Ring you’re in by the color of the sky. (Red = Pride, Orange = Wrath, Yellow = Gluttony, Green = Greed, Blue (not typical sky blue) = Envy, Deep Purple = Lust, & Pink = Sloth). In Helluva Boss, anytime we’re in Imp City or at Stolas’ palace, the sky is always Red. Same for Andrealphus’ ice palace; red sky. So we know that at least some Ars Goetia live in the Pride Ring, as well as many imps. ☺️

Unless sinners die by angelic weaponry they'll just respawn in Hell. So it's interesting to note that when Alastor kills his victims they never come back even though he doesn't use angelic arms. Right now it's a mystery how he's able to do this because it should be impossible. My theory is he doesn't technically kill but he absorbs sinner's souls fueling his own power. So there probably thousands of souls trapped inside him. That's my theory though.

So basically the thing with Charlie is that she's a pushover. I think WOG is that she's either second or third most powerful in hell its just that she's not willing to enforce things. Sinners basically don't care about her one way or the other; the politically motivated ones know that she won't throw any weight around for them and the ones just interested in making their afterlife something approaching bearable until they get exterminated just find her annoying. I'd imagine that Hellborn demons would probably be more respectful since they're under an actual hierarchy and are used to showing respect to nobles but it seems like either they can't ascend or Charlie is prioritizing Sinners because of the whole yearly extermination thing so they don't get any attention. Ironically her being that strong actually works against her since if she was honestly weak Lucifer would probably be throwing his own weight around to keep her safe but that's completely unneeded. It probably also means that no one realizes that Charlie could 100% take them in a fight.

one thign i love about hazbin is how hell is portrayed as less a pit of eternal torment and more jsut a place where evryone stopped caring and just live without any self restraint. SO we get sutff like news anchors who say aloud every terrible thought they have and a prompter writing down every thought they have on live news broadcast including a very perosnal thing about their love troubles because it's hell and noone cares.

All the actors got reacts because viv wanted a broadway cast. A couple of the original got minor acting roles as some background characters I think. People say it was awful for her to do this, but I don’t get the hate. It happens alot and to my knowledge none of the original va’s have any hard feelings and supported her 100%. They even had a final goodbye music video by Black Gryphon as the original cast members sang a final goodbye song.

Also, ALL the actors are different. She recast everyone to broadway actors. The originals were more on the youtuber level of fame. And most of the characters originally had a speaking and a singing voice. I'd highly recommend checking out Black Gryph0n who was Allistor's singing voice. He has a few songs on his channel as Alastor. And for those of us who were there through the pilot and the changes, his newest where he uses the pilot actors "Thank you and goodnight" is a beautiful little tribute of the changing of the guard.

"Doesn't seem like Charlie has that much power at all." - Charlie is the 2nd or 3rd most powerful being in Hell. (Not sure about this whole Lilith/Lucifer power scale) She is just too nice to use that power. Kind powerful demons are mistaken to be weak (like in the spinoff show) In the first song when she sang about being a failure, Lucifer's image was behind her, so my first thought was too, that he called her a failure, but after seeing the guy, I can really see it to be true. (maybe they retconned that part)

I think Lucifer didn't call her a failure but told her she would fail. Might seem like semantics at first, but big difference, especially once the next episode (aka Episode 1 of the series proper) comes around and she sees what she's up against.

To be clear, this isn't "another" extermination, it's the same one from the series. The series starts one week after this pilot, one week after *this* extermination. Yes, Angel Dust is his stage name based on the nickname for cocaine. You'll learn his real name in episode 4... which I would highly recommend you bring tissues for 😅 Since you asked about dukes, I should mention there's a full hierarchy of classes in hell (like 8 to 10 classes, depending on how you group a couple). That's explored much more in the spinoff Helluva Boss, while in Hazbin Hotel we mostly just see Sinners (including Overlords) and Charlie's family. In fact, Helluva covers every other class of demon *except* Overlords and Charlie's family. But you can find the full hierarchy listed online; or if you're interested, let me know and I'll post the hierarchy here 😊 Charlie has a ton of power, she's just usually too nice to use any of it. Once again I'll reference episode 4, where they address that during a conversation between Vaggie and her. And yeah, Angel is a spider demon. You'll actually see his extra eyes in episode 4 (yes, a *lot* happens in that episode 😅). So far, almost everything we know about the Sinners' lives on Earth comes from behind the scenes tweets and such, which may or may not be canon (except for a small thing we learn about Alastor's life in episode 5). So I don't want to say too much about it in case it turns out to be retconned. But since you asked about Angel and Alastor: Angel was in a mob family and died in the 1940s of a drug overdose. He has a sister, and she's probably still canon because of something from episode 6, but not 100% guaranteed. Alastor was a radio host in New Orleans in the 1920s, and also a serial killer (and possibly a cannibal, though that's contentious). He learned voodoo while he was alive, which is the kind of magic you see him use here and in the series. He was shot and killed in the early 30s by a hunter who mistook him for a deer while he was burying a victim's body in the woods, hence the deer-like design of his demon form. Again, that might all be retconned, so take it with a grain of salt. Regarding Charlie's relationship with her parents... that's explored a lot more in episode 5 😊 Niffty is canonically 22 years old, she's just tiny and perky... and psychotic 😂 "I bet this guy made a deal with him." 👀 *Cough* Episode 4 again *cough* 😅
