I bought something similar in Amazon last week. Only to find out it's meant for gas trimmers. I have a cordless black and decker. Wish they had attach and detach videos.

Im not a fan of battery operated landscaping ANYTHING, and even if you would have gotten it for a GAS trimmer. There are pros & cons! First if most important will be the strain on motor & metal spindle that makes head turn. Through yrs of using & messing them up! If you take the GUARD OFF you can leave you string a little longer, thus doing more work, and being able to get in confine spaces. That in itself strains both things, and cause the spindle to break, just like im sure this would too, if used for to long a period.

I use mine on a battery powered brush cutter. It has more power than my Stilh . But it don't last long. If you need to work for more than a hour a time I would bye a gas powered instead. The battery are to expensive xD

I highly recommend safety equipment with this those bristles fly right off. I would be wearing protective goggles and protective pants with at least steel toe boots.

You're not supposed to hit those things with a string trimmer either. it is a powerful "blade" for a skilled operator that will let you really dig out weeds rather than just cutting them flush with a string.

These will only work on a weed eater with a clutch drive. If you have a direcct drive like most weed eaters, it will be nearly impossible to start. The weight of the wire wheel is too heavy causing the pull start to not be fast enough. I just installed one on a warmed up machine and I could not turn the engine fast enough to start it.

I tried one of those brush. Let me note why I personally don't like it. Is too heavy, will add extra worn to the head bearings and all the gears ; is not really effective on the grass over pavement cracks, between rocks or over grown roots over concrete, plastic string does better; if you hit any pvc siding the damage is worst than with a plastic string. So, I can get a better results with a string called "black diamond" without damaging the string trimmer. In the end is like brushing the grass instead of "impact hit" to cut through it. In the future I will try some ones with 3 steel strings, I guess will be near the string results and more durable also.
