2. As the name implies, it gets air into the soil. Air is an important element for the top three inches of soil. It creates a healthy growing environment for grass roots
3. As the soil is loosened, it makes it creates room for roots to develop and grow stronger
4. It helps breakdown the thatch layer. Aeration is a much gentler and less aggressive option to thatch management vs. power raking (AKA - dethatching).
