Jason Weigandt's son Lane raced the KTM Junior Supercross for Monster Energy Supercross at Empower Field, and somehow got sixth even though dad barely his time to take him riding. This program is all about the smiles and the amazing experience. On the other end, though, this sport can be so cruel, and it presented the cruelest of exits for Eli Tomac. This one hurt so bad.
The Weege Show is presented by RaceTech.com Gold Valves. Use them in your kids bike if he wants to race supercross.

Weigandt does such a great job reporting on Supercross and makes it seem so easy that it’s almost taken for granted. The respect he has from the riders and teams provides him and us so much insight week after week and making it as entertaining and interesting as the race itself.

Gutted, devastated, heartbroken for Eli. Really hope this isn't how his career ends. I really hope people don't hate on Chase here. Chase is a great class act. Look at his pass on Eli in the heat. He could have easily made hard contact or even block passed but he didn't he gave Eli plenty of room. At least with Chase winning and not Coop is the fastest guy is champion

I would have bet my house that eli had it locked up. We all know anything can happen at any time but it just doesn't happen with someone like eli. And I know this is not how chase wants to win it. He was looking forward to running it back with eli in the outdoors as well. Its crazy how chase had the most crashes and roczen has a history of not finishing strong. And they are the last 2 standing as far as top 3 finishers go.

But look at Roczen in 2017 compared to now. He was never the same after those injuries. Everyone knows the physical side of it, it’s the mental aspect that gets a lot of guys. They just can’t do what they used to do because they know how bad it can go. I personally think Tomac comes back in 2024. Winning a title is another question. An achilles tendon is not something that you just bounce back from. I hope he wins the title in 24. Heck I hope he goes undefeated indoors and outdoors and gets to go out on top like he deserves, but this is about the hardest injury to come back from that you can have.

Achilles tendon is a wear&tear body part. Kobe Bryant suffered same injury towards end of his career. : / Good news, Kobe did recover and have his 'highest' scoring game (his last game, 81 points!) post achilles injury. : )

Chase has to be just a mess of emotions, he totally respects and looks up to Eli, and his program that his dad and him do is totally manicured directly after the Tomacs family training. Chase is a good guy and it is very well deserved and earned. Cool for KRoc, AC, JH46, SM12 and all the others in the top 10. People can be negaitive about the guys getting in the top 10 all they want, bottom line is they have raced 16 rounds and the others couldnt or didnt make it. While I do enjoy watching SX, ( I have been since 1973), I personally think the tracks have gotten to the point where injuries due to track difficulty has overshadowed the actual racing element. I want to see ALL the top riders competing in the final race of the season, not just a few who have managed to "Survive" the 17 race season. When the Hill brothers are now finishing in the Top five, and the leader is lapping all the way up to 5th place, there is something wrong that needs to be addressed. Yes, both Cooper and Tomac were injured in fluke circumstances, but the series as a whole is marred by injuries caused by a difficult track design over the years.

At least he gets to go out on top in motocross. His first and last races were both wins and that is a pretty cool feat. Just seems so weird something like that happened but, just kinda goes to show you the anything can happen cliche is true. Thats gotta sting though. Everyone who races usually uses championships as measuring sticks and to lose it because you ruptured your achilles while leading the race with only 1 round to go has got to be tough mentally.
