Army winning out means ND out, so the calculation doesn't change, even if Boise wins out. Tennessee is out and if Texas loses, so are they, you can argue if Tenn or A&M is in but there is ONLY 4 teams from SEC... Indiana almost needs to lose to Purdue (almost) to be out... that is the only thing that changes that... GAME TO WATCH: Penn ST Minnesota

It's absolutely ridiculous that anyone is seriously talking about 5 SEC teams getting in when the SEC really isn't that good this year. This isn't the powerhouse conference of yesteryear and it's clear that history is coloring judgment. You need to step back and look at these teams for who they are THIS YEAR, not who they were in previous seasons. Can you do that?

We will see when these teams play some of these weak sec teams. The problem is now all sec teams are getting good. Not just Bama Georgia. Sec is best teams taking over. Get used to it. There is a reason sec has so many natty. Tennessee no.

@@JohnnieSmith-c7d You failed. The assignment was to consider THIS season, but your argument is "look how many nattys". SEC has history, and that's cool, but it's got nothing to do with this season. At this point, there's only two SEC teams with any semblance of being a complete team and it's a recent development for both of them. Those would be Ole Miss and Alabama (I really hate saying good things about Alabama, but we're being honest here). The rest of the SEC field is far from being complete teams, and if you're being honest, you really can't argue otherwise. On paper Texas is a complete team, but in the only real test they had, they proved why we play the games on turf, not paper. Georgia, you say? Well, it turns out that offense is actually a component of a complete team and Georgia's offense rarely gets on the bus. Beck is frequently their opponents' mvp of the game, sadly. I don't even have to break down Tennessee's woes for you, and that's sad as Tennessee is one of two SEC teams that I actually do like (for reasons other than their play on the field). That leaves A&M and I doubt even their fans would describe the Aggies as a complete team. I'm not saying that these are bad teams, but they're not the SEC we're used to seeing. Is there parity in the SEC? Yes, but parity doesn't equate to quality, necessarily. Are you willing to admit that I'm being fair and honest in my assessment?

@@JohnnieSmith-c7dand we’ve seen these “weak SEC teams” OOC already. Vandy lost to Georgia st. LSU lost to a 5 loss USC team. Arkansas lost to a 7 loss Oklahoma state team. Mississippi st, for blew out by Toledo, Auburn lost to a mid Cal team at home etc. So just because they’re beating up on a few overrated teams in their conference doesn’t meant they’re getting better

Just take the Top 12 ranked teams. Period. None of this if you win your conference you’re automatically guaranteed a high seed BS. If that means that 6 or 7 SEC teams get into the Top 12 then so be it. Same for the Big10. If the Big10 has 6 or 7 teams in the Top 12 then so be it. Again, the goal should be getting the best 12 teams in the tournament regardless of which conference they are in.

you know why they have that. there are powerful people behind those conferences that would threaten to keep their teams out of the playoff all together. they're not forced to agree. they have their own terms. It's a deal between multiple parties. Also, I hope you know we are moving towards a "Power 2". Two conferences. You know.... like AFC and NFC.... so you'll get your wish eventually!

Notre Dame would get bumped if Army beats them and goes undefeated. The big 12 champ is in regardless. Army and Boise get in along with big 12 champ and highest ranked is the 4 seed. That would be wild as all 3 of them would be conference champs. 6 conference champs in the playoff would be insane. Also, 11-2 Big 12 champ Colorado with potential Heisman winner is not only in but they would be at 3 or 4. And 11-2 Arizona State is also in that same spot

This is absolutely a horrendous first foot forward for the CFBC. How in the WORLD is Notre Dame rewarded by losing to a TERRIBLE NIU team at HOME and given a chance to host a playoff game in the first round? Who just got dominated again btw. How in the WORLD is Penn State in the same situation for their BEST game not being blown out by Ohio State? Weird…seems like this will echo chamber with Indiana as well if they don’t get blown out as well. Deplorable. How in the world did Miami move up in the rankings during a bye week after losing to an unranked banged up Georgia Tech team after multiple gifted wins? Yet UGA moved up 2 spots for beating #7 TN in a dominant fashion. This is awful. I would love to travel to the parallel universe the committee lives in and see what they’re supposedly “studying” in these meetings. Seems like a lot of brand and money bias with ZERO regard for SOS. That’s the only way you explain why bama, ole miss and UGA are sitting as road teams with the comparison of SOS & quality wins.
