I know things will still change. But IF we did end up with SMU vs. Notre Dame, it would be a rematch of the legendary 1949 game where a national-championship-winning ND team was pushed to the limit by Kyle Rote and SMU. Rote erased a 20-7 deficit, tying the game at 20, and after a 4th quarter TD put ND up 27-20, Rote got SMU to the Irish five-yard line before a Jerry Groom interception on his own 2 enabled ND to escape with a win by the skin of their teeth. That would be a very fun matchup.

This is how the 12 team format should look like...power 4 conferences big10, SEC, ACC, Bigxii champions get the #1-#4 seed. #5 seed & 6 seed should be giving to the Best teams out of the MAC, American, & Mountain champions...depending on record n etc or #12 & #11 seed. Runner ups in the Conference championships...depending on record n etc. Should be giving seeds...7-10 or 6-9. Since Notre Dame is neutral but plays a usually a tough schedule...depending on record would fill #5-#10...(2 loss maximum)

Believe it or not there's a bit of a difference between playing in Laramie when its 25 degrees with 30mph winds and playing in Tempe when its 95 degrees.....
