Trying to wrap a few things up before I head to the US for the holidays and to see my new granddaughter 😍 Got to meet a new neighbor, visit a creepy tennis centre and celebrate St Martin’s Day with Massimo and his family 😎

I suspect most foreigners don't move to Italy because of the sun and the sea and the mountains... but for all the Massimos out there!

Ha! None of that hurts but you’re right. Unbelievably thankful 😊

Nice that you have been adopted by Massimo's family! They'll probably be referring to you during your absence as "l'Americano"! Safe travels.

HI, I like your videos. The mix of things that you are up to is fun to watch. You should make them a little longer even if it is just reno jobs. I my self and I think a lot of people like to watch the work people do and to see the country side where you are. I am a great fan of Italy. My wife and I spent a month working on some farms in Tuscany (WOOF). We also spent a week in Sicily and were really taken by the beauty, history, the people and the food. Massimo seems to be a nice guy and a fun character. That pottery in the fields would really intrigue me as well, cool stuff! Enjoy the holidays and your new family member. Safe journeys. Dave

Thanks for the feedback, Dave. I’m always worried about people being bored so I cut a lot short and keep things moving - but I’ve wondered about that. When I get back in January I’ll give it a try and see what happens. Sounds like you know Italy well. I used to think the hype was overblown but I was definitely wrong. And Sicily has totally blown me away. I’m smitten! And Massimo? What a piece of work. I already love the guy. Thanks for watching and I really do appreciate your feedback.

I say just do what resonates with you, including the music. It’s your experience and channel! I’m really enjoying your videos, and I love the genuineness and low-key, non “influencer” vibe. I’ve watched a fair amount of travel vlogs and noticed that the snarky, critical comments always come from people who don’t have the courage or talent to create something themselves. Fuggeddaboutit. 😂 You’re doing great, and I look forward to seeing more (and hopefully some day exploring Sicily! 😊

@@littlesita9452 Yeah. We’re not cool enough to be influencers 😝 We’re just doing this for fun. When the fun runs out we’ll stop making the videos. Have to admit, since we started, I’m really surprised at how many people I’ve discovered who are trying hard to do this to make money! We just want to make people happy and give people the courage to maybe do something like this. And we love the idea that, when we’re long gone, our grandkids will be able to get to know us a little better. How weird is that?

Lol. No. I’ll keep it more low key. I’ve gotten the message loud and clear. BUT! Let it be known! Italians do like the Blues.

My husband and I have been thinking of buying property in Sicily, but scared of all the challenges. You’ve been doing great on the renovations. How handy were you to begin with?
@beeseurotravelКүн бұрын
You can’t think too much 😉 The worst thing that can happen is is doesn’t work out and you move back! So buy something well within your budget and it takes a lot of pressure off. I’m not sure where you’re from but Sicily has lots of immigrants/expats from all over the world and it is easy to find people who can give you a hand when you have a problem/need something. And Sicilians, if you’re kind and respectful, will bend over backwards to help you. And Goggle Translate is your best friend here. Everyone knows how to use it and have no problems using it. Nothing to worry about as far as communication goes. I have done a ton of remodelling to this point so I’ve learned a lot. BUT? I learned most of it on KZbin (seriously 🤣) and then through trial and error. You can do it 😊
@gracevittoria9467Күн бұрын
@@beeseurotravel we are from Canada and are fortunate to speak some Italian, as we are children of Italian immigrants. What seems daunting is the buying process (worried of all the process and cost) and getting stuck in a money pit. It seems like great fun though :) Thanks for sharing your experience!

Awesome content! Love that you are DIYing the renovation. Did you bring your tools from the US or just buy locally?

Thanks! Having a blast and just trying to have fun. Had to buy most everything here because the tool voltage is different (110 in the US and 220 in Europe). I did bring some hand tools from the US though 😎
