Week 6 was a bit out of the norm. I was away for several days for work. The handsome one did eat from the supplies. He took pictures when he remembered. We had some really great meals.

My favorite Friday show. Once again, you’ve made some delicious meals. So much stuff left over in your pantry. It’s amazing! Snow storm on the way to Moncton. It’s my baking day, so will be a good day for that! Enjoy your weekend!

First thing I did this morning was to look for your video. It usually pops up in my feed, but for some reason today, it didn't. Another amazing week! Your hard week does not go unnoticed! Thank you for your amazing hard work! I hope you and your family and all those here have a very Merry and Blessed Christmas! ❤️🎄💚

Everything looks wonderful Melanie! Great use of ingredients and happy to see you took the plunge on homemade yogurt. I save a little of each batch and call it perpetual yogurt

@fromthehutt9508 I'm sure I can do better with either cream or whole milk, but otherwise happy with my first attempt.

Melanie this is amazing! Very inspiring to see how much you’ve been able to maximise your buying power and build up such a stock. Also love that the handsome one got involved with taking the pics, great meals! We had a deal this week in the UK which I made the most of - common Christmas vegetables down to 8p. We got 7 fresh broccolis for 56p!! Would usually cost us 79p for just the one!! Kg bags of carrots, 2kg bags of potatoes, white and red cabbages and 500g bags of parsnips also all down to 8p. Unreal and I now have a very full freezer 😂 looking forward to your final haul before Christmas, hope you have a wonderful time celebrating x

Good morning! Handsome one did a very nice job plating his meals. It's wonderful to see what you been able to do. I did get my eggs this week! Yay me! I also got a credit at my store/pharmacy for 10.00 because of my pharmacy prescriptions. I was able to get 3 - 5 pound bags of flour. Yay! me! It's awesome that your bank also give you points. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas. Be safe and stay well. Catherine

You've done a really good job with your stockpile or pantry build I guess you call it. We're going to have to be eating ours down for the next few months. Our furnace died and we have to put in a new one this week to the cost of $6000. That wipes out our emergency fund, so in order to rebuild it as quickly as possible, we are dropping down to a bare bones grocery and household budget. I knew I found your channel for a reason. At least I have a lot of home canned food, a giant chest freezer full of half a hog and almost a quarter of a beef left and a bunch of frozen broccoli and corn. And after my scheduled (and paid for already) chicken order comes in, I will only be worrying about fresh produce, eggs, cheese, and I bit of milk, I think. And we have quite a bit of cheese at the moment. And I did a big grocery run right before the furnace went kaplooey, so it's a decent place to be. We are a family of four, so I'm going to try to keep it to $100 a week or less.
@adventuresingrocerylandАй бұрын
@luckyrobinshomestead such a bummer when something like that happens. You're in a good place with all that meat and preserves. Hopefully you're able to rebuild the emergency fund very quickly. Good luck!

Looks good. I’ve been having snacky suppers, too! Yum. My favourite use of coconut milk in soups is a Thai curry squash soup. I use a tbsp of red curry paste for the whole pot, squash, broth, and coconut milk. You can add onion, garlic and carrot, if you feel the need. I use a hand blender to whizz it smooth. Yum! Coconut milk and curry is a natural combo. You’re going to have to do a pantry purge in January!

just a saving suggestion for an alternative for fresh spinach its getting very expensive here, 8 oz frozen spinach 1$ a pack on sale where I live MI, it lasts me many days using in smoothies, eggs, soup. I prefer the fresh spinach but its an affordable alternative in winter.
@adventuresingrocerylandАй бұрын
@jenniferwaffle6920 I often purchase frozen spinach. I think I have 2 packs in my freezer right now but they were before challenge purchases. So I won't have access to them again until the new year.

I’ve noticed your food portions are on the small side, is that done specifically to save money?
@adventuresingrocerylandАй бұрын
We don't eat breakfast in real life. Those are definitely small. I prefer to eat a lighter lunch or I feel lethargic in the afternoon. Our suppers are very generous, probably too generous to be honest. We are definitely not eating small servings to save money. We eat snacks and 2nd helpings if we want. I just don't film those.
