Can we use Bayes Rule in it? Like P(B|A) = {P(B)*P(A|B)}/P(A) P(A|B) = probability that car runs more than 10k miles given that it ran more than 20k miles, which is intuitively one. So P(B|A) = P(B)/P(A) = 04/0.8 = .5 Similarly for the second question. I am not sure if this is the right way to approach, but somehow I got the correct answer for both questions.

How did you translate this statement 'Its total life will exceed 20,000 miles' into P(B|A) ?

Its given that battery life exceeds 10K so, prob of it extending 20K with given condition~ P(20K|10K)
