I came across your channel last fall when I just graduated from undergrad program at McMaster. I was surprised you chose Mac for the undergrad study. In your video, many scenes look so familiar to me, such as MDCL, Boosters juice, and David Braley Athletic Center. It's really like looking back my undergrad campus life, although mine is much more tedious than yours 😂 I'm Chinese from China and came to Canada for post-secondary studies at 19 and work hard to integrate into campus life and local communities. Your vlogs inspire me a lot! Though I'm upper-year than you, I feel there're many things I should learn from you, like I'm not sportive and hardly workout. Recently I watched ur a video about giving tips to look for research positions (last time I video ur video was in fall 2019...forgive me 😂) You're so amazing you found a research job after freshmen year （太了不起了！）. Now I'm a Maser candidate pursuing a research-based program at Mac and also doing some lab works 😏, so I can relate ur tips which are very valuable. Not sure if you can notice my comment, but I wish you all the best in Mac.

I know you are playing intramural volleyball but do you have any idea on how to try out for the actual volleyball team? Is it like normal tryouts in highschool or what??

the players are normally recruited during the regular club season whn they're in grade 11 or 12 and commit to the school sometime in that time. some schools also have walk-in open tryouts, but i'm not sure if mac has that!

normally when you play competitive volleyball, scouts watch the tournaments and may come up to you or you can send them an email with your highlight reel and if they're interested then they'll come watch you play as well xx honestly not 100% sure how the process works, but if your high school team is also ranked very highly, it is possible they will also come watch your division finals or something :)

oh 100%!! it's much more easier to vlog when i have friends around which is why you see many more clips with them compared to when i'm alone :) i'm still working on getting better at vlogging alone in public, but for now, i just take b-roll clips mainly with my phone

at the beginning of the year, i wished i had a single room at times just cause it can get hard to have alone time, but if i were to redo this year i don’t regret my decision in living in a double at all! definitely something you need to get used to, but it has been a great experience so far :)

A few questions. I will have a 91 average for my grade 12 top 6. My ECs; top level academy soccer for 10 years, co-op accounting firm, own clothing brand, licensed soccer referee(part-time job), worked as a soccer coach for 3 years, created my own club at school, took part in deca and robotics but minimal involvement.
