My dermatologist told me that washing hair infrequently actually worsens dandruff & dry scalp. Prescriptive Ketaconazole shampoo (Nizoral over the counter) is fantastic!!! I use 2-3 x's a week when having a flare-up. Otherwise maybe just once a week.

I always have dry scalp and use Biolage Scalp sync shampoo. I know you aren’t looking for a shampoo but it really helps me.
