WEEK IN MY TEACHER LIFE | could this week be any busier?? 25+ parent conferences, pumpkin days

Our custodial staff only vacuums once a week in our classrooms. (If that ) I had to invest in a vacuum for my classroom and it’s now one of the kids favorite jobs. They don’t even come in our room to get the trash we have to put it outside our door daily. Gotta love budget cuts !

I completely understand 😊 my kids know we clean up at the end of the day because no one is going to do it for us! They love it and some life skills on cleaning is always a plus.

We have a great custodian staff!! They vacuum everyday.. empty garbage in the room every day.. mop once a week. My room is always clean!❤

Our school did a fun run too. I teach preschool so our kids didn’t participate but the older kids also got a foam party. We raised a lot of money.

For behavior grades students get either an E for excellent, S for satisfactory, or N for needs improvement each week in two categories: behavior & work study. This scale corresponds to the behavior and work study grades my district requires on report cards. I circle their letter each week and write a little note about why they got that letter and parents sign. Then at the end of the nine-weeks I use that log to help decide their overall letter averages for behavior and work study for the nine-weeks.

Our district is currently all about using HQIM (the new key word for curriculum) we can not steer away from it. Makes me so sad because we know as teachers not all curriculums meet standards. And that also means we can’t do fun days like this 😢 And last year my team and I wrote a grant to purchase classroom transformation supplies and now we can’t even use it
