I just moved into a new studio in September and got straight to work, so it isn't super decorated or anything yet - I'll do a fresh studio tour once I'm a bit more settled.

it’s been a minute, I’m Lauren! I’ve been working with clay for ~5 years and 2020 marks my first year of doing the damn thing full-time! I am a self taught Chinese-Jamaican artist living in Calgary, Alberta.

Reading in your bio that youre self taught just inspired me soo much! I love watching pottery videos because it seems so therapeutic but I pursued a different major and never thought i could really turn to pottery if i havent studied it professionally but your work is very inspirational for me to rethink of my passion for pottery.

thank you so much!! sometimes I feel like an imposter not having any sort of art degree but I remind myself how much time and intention I’ve put into my ceramics practice and how much it means to me 💕 if you can take a lesson or class at some point I’d recommend that! I did take one class in 2015 that jump-started everything and practiced & learned on my own after that 🥰

thank you so much for watching! I believe it’s an RK-10, I actually got it at an estate sale a few months ago! I was using shared RK-Whispers at my previous studio - they were obviously way quieter but I wear headphones in the studio anyway! I heard these ones are power houses and it’s still working pretty perfectly since being purchased new in 1985! ☺️

hi hi! thanks for watching! I used to get everything from a local supplier but they got bought out last year sadly and prices went wayyyy up - so now I get my boxes / compostable packing peanuts from staples (online)! :-)

What glaze do you use when making designs (flowers) and how does it not run? Our studio says we cant make designs because they'll come out droopy looking, we use cone 6.
