i love watching ur weekly videos! gives me so much motivation to study!. I've been watching them since ur college acceptance video and we're the same age so it's so fun going through the college experience at the same time as you. I'm a vet student in the UK and it's so interesting seeing the life of a med student :)

AAAA Lyd!! First! I hope classes are going well for you! I had my first week of classes (awesome professors- things are more rigorous than NEU but I think I'll be okay!) and fall rush starts soon so I'm doing that as well! I also got a chance to spend time with pookie so that was fun! I loved your video as always and please remember to take care of yourself! bisous

Thank you! Yes I’ve heard BU is notorious for grade deflation but I have no doubt you’ll do an amazing job! Best of luck with rush!!

LOVE UR VIDEOS!! Can you make a video on advice on how to rock the bs/md interviews and how to write the best essays when applying? You're such a motivation to me to become a doctor! You will be a great doctor and I can't wait to see where you get to in life!

Thank you so much!!! :) actually, even though I got into a few programs, I don’t believe that any student (current or past) has the true authority to share tips or advice on how to get in because we simply don’t know the current admissions trends and what admissions officers are looking for. Any student you see on KZbin offering advice or tricks to get in simply doesn’t know what they’re talking about unless they’re somehow involved in the admissions process. That being said, I know a really solid BS/MD counselor who is extremely familiar with the trends from year to year based on how her past students’ applications fare in the process. She’s successfully gotten multiple students into PLME and other top BSMD programs and isn’t scammy like those big companies that charge thousands of dollars. Shoot me an email at bsmd.lyd@gmail.com and I can share the counselor’s contact info- she offers a free 15 minute consultation so you can decide if you’re a good fit for each other. Hope this helps!! :)) you’re gonna do great! 🩺🥼

How do you stay so consistent with studying? And how often do you study? I am in school after 5 years and it’s so hard for me to get into studying.
@BSMDLydАй бұрын
It's going to sound dorky, but I love studying! I study every day (except for weekends) for a minimum of 2h, but most often I study in between my classes so 4h + a few hours afterwards at home depending on my workload. I learned quickly in my first year that even if you don't have any homework or assignments due, it's helpful to spend a little extra time with the material and do a whiteboard review so you have less to recall when it's time for exam review. I'm sorry to hear it's hard for you to get back into the grind, but I applaud you for doing so after 5 years, that's incredible! What helps is to literally "romanticize" your studying. Get out of your house if you can so you have less comfort/distractions, find a quiet study spot, put on some lofi-study music, and throw your phone to another dimension. Another thing that helps is to set up a timelapse on your phone that way you're not tempted to use it while studying, and at the end you get a cute little recap of how productive you were in video form :) Also, apps like Opal to block social media while studying have been helpful for me. If you like to draw or take notes, make your notes pretty so you enjoy looking back at them. If you still can't get in the study mood after all that, try to do some affirmations and remind yourself of how far you've come and how you must enjoy the process of learning if you've willingly decided to re-enter academia! YOU GOT THIS! :)

@@BSMDLyd awe thank you so much for replying! I love all your tips! I’ll have to try them. I get overwhelmed then usually don’t study but then I feel bad about it. I know I need to just approach it slowly.
