There were moments at 9:30 and 9:37 that Joey was in a lovely swinging trot, using his back, and extending. I had to go back and view it again. He is maturing and developing into a striking sport horse. Great job with him, Esme! 💜🇺🇸

Joey CAN GO BAREFOOT!! Hi Esme, Joey definitely can go barefoot, there would be a transition period where he'd need to wear hoof boots, but it's 100% possible. Please do look into it, many top showjumpers are going barefoot and have seen improvements in their horses. I took my TB x barefoot and it was amazing-the difference. Heel first landing, much more supple. We too had lots of road before getting to the forest for hacking and she was amazing. I recommend Barefoot South for guidance and trimming. You could positively influence so many riders❤

You should try hoof boots for Joey! Keeps him barefoot and protects him from the road, but it’s a lot cheaper than shoeing every 5 weeks! Also prevents their joints from wearing quicker because of how metal shoes prevent shock absorption.
