Grumpus! i love skewers,been doing em since i was a kid,Stater Bros out here always runs specials near the holidays,half a dozen skewer combos,all kinds of sauce or seasonings can go on em,what more can we ask?Thank you lol for browning em real nice,that is the lost art in BBQ it seems,everyone wants even color and pic worthiness.To me this is exactly the color and pic friendliness i like,at least for things that cook up quick.PS around 4:41 you jinxed yourself haha,man down,skewer in distress! lol have a good one till next time

Nice work on your charcoal setup and the re-bars (smart). Easy summer lunch/dinner ideas too. Thanks for sharing G! Many thanks Hann - NZL
@GrumpusOnFire3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Hann. It’s nice having the option to raise the fire grate so I can get some really screaming hot heat close to the food. It puts a good char on the outside without over cooking the inside. Thanks for watching.

Hey Grumpus! What a great meal! Shrimp on the barbie. Yum! Looked real tasty, light and healthy. I might need to try some of that rub. Nice work on your LSG. You showed how flexible it is. Love the intro and outtro tunes, too!

Hey Milehighed5280! The Uncle Steve’s Shake(s) are very tasty. Seems like every time I start thinking about another cooker… I figure out a way to replicate on my LSG! Thanks for noticing the tunes… It ain’t easy finding just the right music. Cheers 🍻!

Looks great. Nice and simple. Question though on your LSG. It looks like a lot of rust on the top of the firebox. Is there an issue with the grill?
@GrumpusOnFire4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Tim. No issue really. I probably use my smoker more regularly than the average backyard cook. So, after two years of abuse… the pit is showing some rust at the firebox. Everywhere else the paint is still looking good. I fire up my smoker half a dozen, or so, times a month, and I’ve built some pretty big fires (bigger than I should have). I also use the firebox as a grill (I don’t own a kettle cooker), a lot, so sometimes I’ve got the lump screaming hot. Add to that it sits without a cover… well I can’t expect the paint to hold up forever. The rust is superficial, the metal is still perfect. I’ll give it a sanding and repaint sometime this summer.
@timhale45404 жыл бұрын
@@GrumpusOnFire Thanks for your reply. Glad to hear it is only superficial.

Great video! just found your channel, subscribed. Man, I wish you were my next door neighbor! I have all of those veggies growing in my organic garden and more, but I'm not very good at catching shrimp and I don't have a grill that nice or your grilling skills, and charcoal gets so expensive. Any tips on where to find whole wood natural lump charcoal in bulk for cheap? I wish I could cook on my grill every day, but the charcoal costs more than the food. Anyway, this video was awesome and the shrimp and veggies look amazing. thanks for sharing, cheers
@GrumpusOnFire4 жыл бұрын
Knowing all that… I wish I was your neighbor too! I’m sure we could make some sort of arrangement!. If charcoal is cost prohibitive in your area, try using real wood. Just let it burn down to coals and you are off to the races... just a thought. Thanks for watching, and thanks for subscribing.

dang that firebox alrdy peeling and rusting?
@GrumpusOnFire4 жыл бұрын
She’s showing a little wear and tear. After two years of Texas weather, plus my abuse… I think it’s looking better than I would have expected. The rest of the pit paint is holding up well. I’ll sand and touch-up this summer. Thanks for watching.
