Dear Bindu, the way you explain the DAX calcualtions is so enlightening for me. Please keep up the great work! I'd have a REQUEST for a video explaining how to calculate YEAR-TO-WEEK (e.g. CW 1-34 2022). In my data base I have only weekly data (Year and Week Number, no constant series of single days) and I am struggling to create a measure that would calculate YTW current year (and YTW last year) to be able to create a comparison of cumulated weekly periods CY vs. PY. The standard materials that you find on the internet relate usually to standard calculations like YTD etc. It would be great if you could prepare such a video. Many thanks in advance for your possible support!

I have 2or more filters such as audience segments with Weeks. And I tried this function did not work. Do. You have any suggestion. As I want to add markets+ audience segments + weeknum in concatenation in filter.

This WeekNum does generally divide the days by 7 and convert the week which is not going to match with Actual work week. So, we have to follow other way. Take the Real work week as Reference and then calculate actual week. That's how I calculated and it works.

Hi Bindu, Actually I have question, in my one report I have same scenario which you explained but the problem is now you already have one [case] column in table but now in my case I have to use calculated measure data. So I tried but its not used. Do you have any reference that I should I use measure instead of column in the same DAX. Kindly please share your feedback on this. Thanks!

One of the issue I found with this. e.g. if the start date of week is between 26th Dec 2022 - 1st Jan 2023, the week number could be both Week 53 of 2022 and Week 1 of 2023, then wow goes wrong.

I have small Feedback here the way you are calcuation previous week Its not showing data for the Week 1 , You have to apply some logic like PW = VAR CURRENTWeek = SELECTEDVALUE ( 'Date'[Calendar Week] ) VAR CURRENTYEAR = SELECTEDVALUE ( 'Date'[Calendar Year] ) VAR MAXWeekNumber = CALCULATE(MAX('Date'[Calendar Week]),ALL('Date')) RETURN SUMX ( FILTER ( ALL ( 'Date' ), IF ( CURRENTWeek = 1, 'Date'[Calendar Week] = MAXWeekNumber && 'Date'[Calendar Year] = CURRENTYEAR - 1, 'Date'[Calendar Week] = CURRENTWeek - 1 && 'Date'[Calendar Year] = CURRENTYEAR ) ), [Sales])

You also need to add in another line that limits the month used from the previous year to #12, otherwise you'll pull in the results from partial weeks that happened in the previous year at the beginning that may have been counted as the Max week of the 2 years previous. For example 1/1/22 is actually the Saturday of the final week (#52) of 2021. If you don't add the 2nd qualifier, what you'll get for week 52 in 2022 is 12/25-31/22 + 1/1/22.
