Another brilliant one mate! Walhalla...what a town! Nothing like it anywhere. Absolutely love every time I get to visit that place. Breath taking. Well done on capturing some of its magic

Thanks Matt. It really is a special place. Bet you have a keen interest in the goldfields railway and the other rail history up there. Appreciate the encouragement mate. We better put some dates in the calendar for late 2024 when things open up again.
@CantleJ5416 ай бұрын
@@OTWD Yes visited the railway a few times over the years. However the overall township is just magical! Yes we must get some dates lined up later this year for sure!

Thanks heaps James. The editing takes a long time, and I am grateful for comments like telling me it's appreciated. Next tyre set is going to be skinny mud terrains, 32 or 33" to be confirmed. Cheers.

Wow Walhalla just moved up a few notches on the must visit list, sadly last time i was down that way it was closed off for filming. Man nothing beats cherry blossoms in full bloom, shame they only last a few days. It great to see the new rig out and about, even if this was filmed half a year ago😂. Great stuff mate 👍👍
@OTWD8 ай бұрын
Thanks Ryan. I appreciate the encouragement mate.😬 Once I figure out how to unlock an extra few hours a day I'll get through the backlog of trips and filming. Walhalla is beautiful, and there is plenty of history to explore around the tracks. The car is looking great, nearly finished with accessories and mods to make it a mean machine!

When David Attenborough dies you need to replace him on his wildlife documentaries. Honestly, there is something about the way you tell stories... Give us your best Attenborough commentary on a future video and you'd get our vote ;-) Brilliant video as always, hope you, Tel and the kids are all well x

Long time coming Price folks - please check your emails 💙This is such a lovely comment. I'm not sure I agree though, My sleepy, off the cough, 'hold the camera up' rambling surely isn't gold standard. But I take the hint that this style of video works😉 Great to hear from you, despite my silence🙏 I'll start working on my best Dave Attenborough...

Hey Gav. It's a great spot - it's on the Rooftop maps not sure about the Hema. You should get down there. Thinking skinny M/T next - either 32(235 85 16) or 33" (255 85 16). My BFG KO2s are starting to wear properly now.....

Hey mate. What a beautiful area to cruise through. The name Walhalla has a cool Scottish/Viking ring to it. The Emu looks as good in the mud as the Dingo. Haha The cordless chainsaw is a game changer for 4WD camping, hey? Nice and quiet and no fuel/oil smells. Looking forward to the next vid 🤙

I think there is an Assassins Creed video game title the same - or maybe its Valhalla (probably the same word more or less)!! I am still rocking the Silky saw and complaining about a sore arm, but when we need a cranking fire and the sun is going down, glad those guys have the little electrics. They are getting better too. I'll get one eventually. My 18V tools at home are "bosch - blue", I see Makita, DeWalt, Milwaukee all do a 2x 18V battery chainsaw now. If bosch follow suit I might pull the trigger. Thanks for your support. It means the world.

My Dad would always comment on the "Dead Centre" of every town we went through and I have continued that practice. This was filmed last spring it seems. Good to see you posting up another video Dan. I did a trip into the Wonnangatta last month just before the big rain and the roads were in the worst condition I have ever seen them. The heavy rains and flooding have really messed them up but the river levels were very low. Take care.
@OTWD8 ай бұрын
Michael, It was start of last spring - cracking weather. Haven't seen that area so dry before. Totally different tracks in the wet. Your dad was a cultured man! There's bonus points for saying it with a straight face and pretending no joke was intended. On the several trips I've done since Jan I've also been surprised with the low water levels and the dryness of places. This is my first recent report about the Wonangatta... One of my favourite spots - hopefully it restores. Assume you took the LR and not the Suzuki? Great to hear from you!
@michaeldallimore85908 ай бұрын
@@OTWD Hi Dan, the Suzuki is my High Country car. Can't carry much but it can take a beating and has never let me down and can go anywhere. The Disco is reserved for outback trips and towing the caravan. Yes, we just picked up a second hand van and drove it back from Port Lincoln a few weeks ago. I am off to the Simpson again mid May with a small group so for longer trips with no chance of panel damage I take the Disco, it also has a decent payload. We are staying in cabins and motels where possible on this next trip. Trailer is now parked in by a caravan. It may even be up for sale one day if I don't actually use it. I find setting up a camp for one night when you are on the move just isnt worth the trouble. I think I am now showing my age.

@@OTWD no, I’m on the west coast, so this sort of lush forest terrain is limited to small zones in the south.

Dan, you best be careful roaming around the Vic high country that people don't mistake you for Ned Kelly and shoot you!

This may be a real risk, Allan. On the flipside though, people keep offering me blankets and free meals 😉

To do a river the size that you did near that bridge, is a snorkel necessary or would it have been fine without it?
@OTWD2 ай бұрын
You'd probably get away without a snorkel, but if it was a normal occurrence on the average camping trip you do - I would definitely invest. You could get a tarp or cover for your air intake to minimise the risk if you only cross water occasionally - cheap insurance without a snorkel. Cheers.
