My granddaughter was given the assignment to tell us some interesting (not so common) chicken facts, this is our interview:
1) mother chickens communicate with their babies still in the shell
2) chickens lay colored eggs
3) chickens can see in full-color
4) chickens don't really fly
5) chickens remember faces

My youngest son told my Grandma that the white eggs from the grocery store were fake, because eggs weren't plain white. He has only known my hens and they lay speckled, pink and greens. It gave us a giggle that our hens eggs are all he knew.
