I also took on a long-term substitute position this past semester. And I feel everything you were saying about being exhausted and frustrated and having to make the classroom your own. Being a long-term sub is such a unique experience. I'm glad you were able to get in the groove and figure things out! I struggled a lot and am taking some time to refocus but seeing you gives me confidence in my ability to find my way as a teacher!

It might happen that you'll find something (together) on your honeymoon that you'll be able to frame for your home. I know it sounds odd, but we have a piece of driftwood that is in a deep frame with a picture my husband took from that trip and it is SO personal and important for us! Even though it was a long time ago, I still love looking at it. Just an idea...
