Weekend in Pangasinan Part 2: Kakanin Making (Empalate)

Learned how to cook another famous rice cake or kakanin in Pozorrubio which is Empalate. I thought it was just going to be another rice cake recipe. But this episode has really touched my heart because it reminded me of how our parents will do everything just to give us the best future. Mahirap man ang trabaho pero gagawin lahat para sa pamilya.

My hubby's family is from Pangasinan and this video brought back a lot of memories. We would visit his parents before and my mother in law would bring me to the market to buy fresh produce for us to bring home to Manila and of course kakanin would always be on the list!
