The book you are reading now sounds like a great idea for a movie. Wonderful to see you. And that slacker, Roger.

I always look for Peter David's Star Trek novels. He is my favorite of the Trek authors.

REH's westerns were as I remember mainly Breckenridge Elkins(I think his name was) and I "loved" all the BE stories. They were fun and funny ! Really loved that character :) As others have said yours is the BEST greeting on KZbin. Feels like you are welcoming us to your home :) A 'fantastic" western read is The Travels of Jamie Mcpheeters ! Everyone should read this :>

Sunny Sunday from the Shabby Sweet Shack Saddle Pal. Thanks for inventing June On the Range. 🤠 Only hard part is constantly wiping trail dust off my glasses. 🤓 Loved Robert E. Howard since I bought the Lancer edition of Conan the Conquerer a hundred yrs.ago. Christ, I'm old! 😭 Plunked down the change for the striking Frazetta cover then stayed for the excellent writing. Jolted my sense of wonder big time.

Glad you're still working in lots of Howard. The REH Foundation re-released Swords of the North last week, so I've been cranking through that. I've read most of the stories in there before, but not all of them! It's crazy how under-published his non-Conan/Bran/Kull Sword and Sorcery stories have been. A lot of the lesser known ones are just as good.

Great to see you showing up with the weekend report! Hope things are going better. As always, that Bernie Wrightson looks righteous!

Friedman also wrote some of the comics as well as Peter David. Some really good ST novels are The Final Reflection by John Ford. All Klingon. Strangers From the Sky is really good as well as Final Frontier ( not the movie!) about Kirk's father and Romulans.

Need to read Howard's westerns. They're hard to find nowadays!

Congratulations on reaching 150 books. I too have yet to read a great Star Trek book, in fact they've all been quite bad except the James Blish reader. So far that's the best. Yes you can drive trucks through the plot holes, and padding....oh the padding. The artwork in those Frankenstein volumes is great. I hope they will appear on a future comic book Wednesday 👍 Off to Italy ?

Reading Hondo by L'Amour for June on the Range. Also reading Showcase Presents Bat Lash for it as well. Bernie Wrightson was probably the greatest horror illustrator of the recent times.

The best Star Trek novel I've read is "The Wounded Sky," by Diane Duane. It's a great story and is well-written to boot.

One of the greats. So are her Romulan stories, and John M. Ford’s How Much For Just The Planet (best Trek comedy) and The Final Reflection (best Klingon story).

@@GentleReader01 I haven't read the Romulan stories. I'll have to locate those.
@GentleReader018 күн бұрын
@@TheAtlanteanArchive I think there’s an omnibus of them. The first is My Enemy, My Ally.

I purchased REH the greatest westerns and it’s a bit of a cheap nasty edition with a crappy cover but contentswise it’s great. Over 400 pages, the breck Elkins stories, others, and vultures of whapeton all in one. Also got hold of Steve harrison’s casebook. Hope it’s not too long before I get around to reading. Books I’ve been reading this week are brood of the witch queen by sax rohmer, have started dream quest of unknown kadath, and finished Edward lee’s messenger. Just starting Jack ketchum, red today.

I always look forward to your videos, glad to see your going to be putting regular content out once again. I am currently reading Kull Exile Of Atlantis for the first time, I have almost finished it and it's the second of Howards works I have ever read other than Conan. I'm really enjoying it though and once I have finished it I intend to get another of the Del Rey Howard books!

I love Wrightson. I don’t have that one though. I do have a nice edition of Freaks and I recently read Creepshow.

I agree most fervently Michael about Bernie Wrightson's art, one of the greatest to have worked in the field. I can only imagine what wonders he might have created had he moved, like Frazetta, into paperback covers. Kelly Jones is his natural successor in both style and spirit. Can we expect any videos while you're overseas? Will you have the chance to hit the bookstores there? I don't think buying new or used books in another country would break the rules of the 500 Book Challenge.

Sadly, it would definitely break the rules. I’m not sure how many videos I will get a chance to do.

Deathstaker 2: Rebellion has a storyline where the characters have the banter of a Kirk, Spock & McCoy and they come across a murdered crew. Do you have these books on your shelf?

Passport please, sir! How dare you leave the country during my birthday month! How will I get by without your goofiness? Are you sure you want to leave the running of Stately Vaughan Manor to Roger?! Remember what happened last time! You were short a couple of the staff!
