He is not a nice guy. I am actually fed up with all these naive fans who think he is some sort of cute and handsome victim here. He is not. He is a raging maniac

The racquet on the knee happens so frequently...I don't know if it's a new video or an old one😂 Jokes aside, he is a solid player. He needs the world's best mental coach though...

My thoughts are that he should be punished, unfortunately. What he’s been doing constantly is so bad for the sport, and especially for him. Besides being a horrible example. No violent behavior should be allowed in tennis. No matter what situation.

Wait a minute......Rugby players knock the hell out of each other....boxers too.....hell footballers shout and swear and get into physical altercations with the opponents......man tf up 😅😅😅😅 however rublevs continuous raging shows he's a man child and needs to grow tf up

imo the ATP should have mental health supports for players just as much as they have punishments. i don't have all the answers on how his violent behaviour should be dealt with, but there is surely more than one way of addressing it

@ I agree. He’s asking for help. The punishment is a way of avoiding this behavior to happen, but not the entire solution. It should be addressed helping athletes as well

Rublev ots one of the most weird cases, it baffles me how this guy has so many fans and overall they see him as a "nice guy" while having Rune as the evil incarnate, i mean at least be consistent, but tennis fans are alergic to that

Could it be something to do with being really talented and the level of expectation that comes from within someone with that ability? Is it part of becoming a champion, learning how to harness that gift and manage a pressure that most commenters on KZbin will not likely experience?

It's Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde. He's such a handsome guy off court, but on court... well, we see it from time to time. I can kinda understand him. The more effort you put in something the more disappointed you are if it doesn't work.

"Handsome guy off court" - you see positive things into him off the court just because he is handsome. Time to let this notion of him being nice go.
@sebastiandomagala9233

@Stu49583 Why let go? As long as he doesn't run into trouble on court (which is 99% of his overall lifetime) he is one of the nicest humans in this planet. And McEnroe was just a highly entertaining "Super Brat" with a legend 's status - despite his freakouts. So apart from his moments he Rublev still is a nice person. Just with a low frustration tolerance.

How can he still play after battering his body like that? Man.... I've punched myself in the head before and done other things so I can't judge. Feel for him. He definitely needs to do some trauma therapy or something. Perhaps recruit djokovic as a coach when he retires?

I wish I could contact Andrey - super kind caring guy with terrible feeling of inferiority. I'd commit to giving him the mental coaching where he'd leave this shame cycle behind. And win some GS semifinals too. And yes, I used to toss my racquet in mental collapses when I was younger🌦️🌱

I am fed up with excuses and his victimization. How do you know for sure that he is "super kind and caring"?? Because he appears to be cute while speaking broken English and smiling? I mean you don't know this guy at all. But we all know his behaviour on court.

He is claimed to be a nice guy int he locker room with fellow players, not so sure about regular life in public.

@@Stu49583 He doesn't make any excuses - if you pick up on people's psychology, he is clearly very ashamed of himself.

@@Stu49583 I think he's seen that way because of his humility, he thinks highly of everyone except himself (I guess you just have to trust other players/those who know him, personally I don't believe his humble off-court personality is an "act", but people are free to discern whatever they want about that). But the other side to that (the destructive side of rublev that draws all the attention/concern) is the product of negative self-esteem. Or so it seems, no one except rublev can see inside his head after all. So yes it's fair to judge him by his actions, but the best we can do is hope he's properly addressing his mental health and resilience off the court. all in all, his self-destructive behaviour does not make him a "good" or "bad" guy - it's just a complex personal issue that he must resolve one way or another, and it's just sad to see this cycle keep continuing :(
