My eye insurance only covers frames every other year. Maybe something like that is why your glasses cost more. Also, I usually get mine from Target instead of my eye doctor. Maybe you can shop around for a better deal next year. Wishing your husband the best!

I will have to check into that.... I would think the eye doctor's office would tell us if that was the case, but I definitely need to shop around now that I know that is a high amount to pay for glasses!

A suggestion if you don't mind it, I would continue to budget 30 each week for eating out. If you don't use it good then save it in your envelope and roll it over for instances as you just had. Then you can enjoy a spontaneous lunch and don't have to worry about the budget. I hope this helps.

I would check/file a claim under medical to see if they would cover any of the vision costs. Also, it would help with your annual deductible.

I would definitely check with his health insurance about the additional vision tests for glaucoma. That is usually covered under health insurance. Hopefully your eye doctor realized that and will at least attempt to bill your health insurance for those tests.

Maybe your eye doctor can file some of your appt charges against your health insurance for more coverage and less out of pocket.

Yes, glaucoma is considered a medical condition of the eye so you should def. look into seeing if your eye dr. will submit the bill to your health insurance as well as eye insurance.
