I spent a few years only reading much older, universally loved comics as I had this opinion that newer comics were "lame". However, watching your reviews has made me realize new "non big two" comics are amazing ! (minus the new Ultimate / Absolute launches). Thanks for convincing me to modernize!

I think Absolute Batman is channeling a lot of TDKR in its big stupid fun (think oversized Batman, wild horde of villains, violence and the Batmobile!). It’s just a younger alternate universe, and more manga influenced take. Usually not my thing, but I’m really loving it so far.

The heavens open, the planet shakes....Robbie puts Amazing Spider-Man back on the Weekly Comic Book Review. Will be adding that to the pull as well as the new Black Hammer series you mentioned. Thanks for bringing that one to the review, Robbie. Have always wanted to read something in that series and sounds like a good start. As always, thanks for the continued quality of the Weekly Comic Book Review episodes.

That limited to 1000 Psylocke is crazy! The 1:100 is good but that limited is a must grab. She’s super sexy on that cover and the art is stunning.

Most youtube videos I watch (and I watch plenty), I click over to the next one once they start to wrap up. For Weekly Comic Book Review, I always have to hear that "Pop Pop BOOM!" before I can move on.

Was super surprised to see new Black Hammer. After Black Hammer The End ended, I thought it was done, and I was fine with that. I have like 98% of Black Hammer and not sure where it goes from here, but yeah, soon as I saw it, boom, on the pull list. Glad to hear it is good.

At the last minute I decided not to put GI Joe and ASM on my pull list to keep to budget down. I kinda regret the GIJ one but not the ASM after seeing they are doing the *point* issues in between the main ones. (ASM #65.Death, for example). Why does this story need tie-ins like that? Just a money milking practice I'm not cool with. I'll just pick the issues up off the shelf to avoid getting stuck with one of these.

Just read AVA, Avengers vs Aliens, and wondered about those opening scenes. Didn't make a lot of sense to me? Nice art tho.

Is that "strange vibes" feeling from the Violator book's storytelling a way to show how he's becoming unhinged ? In early Spawn books , he does tend to have over the top versions of his story , as he sees it.

I don’t hear anyone talking about Gotham by Gaslight even though it’s awesome. Not what I would’ve expected but the world building is excellent.

I’ve been watching a variety of youtube comic reviewers for the past 5 years and not a damn one ever reviewed black hammer or its many spin offs. And that right there is indicative of what’s wrong in comics, people bitch and moan about there being nothing fresh. And although black hammer was a different take on tropes it was an interesting and fresh take… that was almost universally ignored
