Weekly Friday Afternoon Audience-Driven Hour (Jan. 24, 2025)

Every week on Friday afternoon I hang out with supporters, subscribers, and interlopers and try to make sense out of the world in light of the gospel. I sometimes have a little structure, but I mostly just respond to whoever joins in. It is an interesting world, and an even more interesting faith (Christianity), so there's not really ever a dull moment.
Spend a little time with this PlainSpoken crew. I think I'm going to talk about the pro-life folks who were released from jail/prison today. There is a lot of movement happening right now. It's sorta hard for me to wrap my mind around. But there were also lots of folks who asked me to cover other topics today, so I'll do those, as well as whatever gets brought up during the stream.

Oh! Disappointed I missed the Bible translation discussion as a Bible Nerd , bibles/translations/etc is my passion. I love all translations, but tend to a more word for word, not dynamic. I don’t look down on the folks selling bibles, I appreciate they are getting the word out to the world. Whatever gets folks in the word. I have heard that Bibles sales are up the last couple of years, and I think that is wonderful!!! My 2025 stack includes; - Morning Reader: NASB 2020 - Youversion Audio: NIV - Study Bible: LSB MacArthur Study Bible - EDC (Every Day Carry) is my ESV Legacy. - Pocket Bible always on my person is a small KJV pocket size. Haha after listening to your comments, we probably disagree, but I am on fire for Bible reading, use, and folks getting interested in the Bible. I do find my infectious interest has infected others in my family and friends and workmates and provided me an entry into discussion to talk bibles and find what and why folks don’t read daily.

This sounds like a great idea! This will give a real reason WHY the GMC wants these groups! So many things are presented as we need to do whatever without explanation...BTW, thanks for answering my questions about what you think is going on in the churches. In some ways it still raises more questions, but I don't ask questions or challenge people without being absolutely dead serious about my questions. I never argue "just to argue."
