Today I did a Walmart grocery haul, and I'm showing it here! This is our first haul for the month of December, and we needed quite a lot. I'll also share our meal plan for the week!

I also like seeing your menu plans. We are always interested in seeing new meals or ideas. Sometimes I forget dinner doesn't have to be a 3 course affair. It can be something that is good but requires less time/effort.

Thabks for sharing, Julie! In the future, just know that the best buy date doesn't mean the chocolate is spoiled -- it's mostly sugar, so it wouldn’t go rancid and you don't have to throw it out. It could possibly be oxidated (so it'd look a little funny), but if it was kept sealed and in the wrappers, it's likely fine. 😊😊😊

Almond milk is great to do a French toast bake in place of regular milk

You could use the almond milk in overnight oats and smoothies.

It’s so good to see you all and your great ideas. I use that type of almond milk in smoothies. Maybe that would help. You can freeze chocolate chips and seasonal chocolates as long as it lasts. 😉

Best before dates are not expiration dates. It's just for peak freshness. Please use the ones ypu have with no worries.

Agreed!! I was just hoping they hadn’t “expired” months ago, or they wouldn’t taste as fresh ☺️

Ty for sharing. Always some good ideas :) I'd as I see someone else said throw the chocolate in the freezer or use. Best before isn't an expiration date more like a suggestion for freshness and I find more places seem to be shortening the times they used to have. Not sure if they just want to sell more and just assume people won't research or the guidelines are stricter somewhere down the line. I'm so tempted to try Hello fresh but haven't pulled the trigger yet lol

I completely agree! I heard recently “best before doesn’t mean rotten after” 😅 We’ll still eat things past, I just was hoping the best before date wasn’t 6 months ago or I don’t think they’d taste as good!

Trying to grocery budget during the month of December is always an interesting time for me. No other time of the year would I buy so many treat type items/foods(2 kinds of chocolate chips this week and 3 kinds of sugar? Why not?). Then, on top of all that, we also buy our normal things. I have to remember it is one month and we don't always shop like this.

Almond milk is good for baking! Annoyingly I am always given original when I order unsweetened too at Walmart, how weird

You can freeze your chocolate kisses. I do that fo my seasonal kisses I buy for peanut butter blossom cookies.
