It's so interesting to hear him mix Korean, Japanese, and English so easily. I wonder if he really knows which language he's speaking. I think the adults might be confusing him when they mix the languages as they talk to him.

I'm no child expert or any of that fact but I have a niece, 2 yrs older than zen, to make an assumption from. She grew up with 4 languages around her. Some adults speak to her in 1, 2, 3, or even all of those. But she seems to recognize them all. I observed that she associates who speaks what. So she never gets confused. And boy do these children have spongelike brain that they can assimilate any language around them and make it as their own. Ergo, I personally think that, zen is not confused by the adults around. And to add to that, some people around zen speak distinct language. Examples are: grand parents speak japanese and the teacher who spoke in korean only. Don't worry about the confusion, children's brains are so expansive that can learn anything. That's why I think early education is great. 😊

@@b_lue73 I'm an English as a second language teacher and I've studied about multilingualism and lived in Japan and worked with or taught bilingual and multilingual families, so I know how flexible kids brains are and how many learn multiple languages in other cultures. You're right. It's just I found young bilingual children I knew would usually code-switch between languages depending on the person or situation. I'm aware of the mixture of languages in one person's speech in Hawai'i, where I live, and places like India, the Philippines, and places where there is more than one official language, and I know most people in Europe are fairly multilngual. It's just that in this video with Zen, they were consciously trying to teach him Korean pronunciation and English, and then Japanese mixed with Korean, so Zen's speech was a mixture. Since his mother usually speaks Korean to him (for TV) but I know also speaks Japanese to him (as do her parents), I don't know why the Korean uncle was trying to talk to Zen in Japanese, but constantly switching to Korean. And then Zen talked about his "shoes." Since he's still learning basic vocabulary and not speaking in extended full sentences, how can he develop "good" pronunciation with this mixture of speakers? I'm sure he'll be fine in the future, especially once he goes to school, but I've never seen this kind of mish-mash language "teaching" style before.

@@JodyY808 I see where you are getting at. Yes, I agree that Zen needs structure too. Like a fixed program. I remember naeun suddenly. Her mom talks to her in english, grannie talks to her in Deutsch, and from my vague memory, another family member talks to her in spanish? Oh well, it is probably still a learning stage for sayuri. I hope people around will help her too ☺️

@@b_lue73 Yes, I was thinking of Naeun and her brothers, too. That's the way most multilingual kids I know are. Their father and most people around them speak Korean, their mother speaks English (and German, I think) to them, grandmothers speak German and Spanish, and they learn mostly in English at school. Naeun is a perfect example of a child who knows how to code-switch depending on the person she's talking to.

꼭 아빠같이.. 별로 좋지않아보이는데. 젠이귀여워서 영상보고는잇지만. 강남은 아직 아이없는 유부남인데.. 부인입장에선 기분이 오묘할거같기도하고.. 특별히 사유리가 미혼모인 입장인디 남편없이 키우려고 일부러 그렇게나은건데 저 어린 애기가 아빠같이 챙겨주는 성인남성에대한 애착이 생겨버리면 나중에 아빠 갈구하는 애정결핍이 심하게생기는거아닌가싶넹. 아예처음부터 그런경험없는애는 덜 고파하던데.
