So after I read God of war, I filmed a ranking video and I put in first place because I was just shocked about it like everything. Ava's mental health struggles and what Eli did to protect her, even though it was hurting her at the same time he couldn’t see that. But I love their romance and the epilogue got me

I didn't like God of war. I felt rina planned originally to make Eli obsessed with ava from birth. But she changed her mind when people complained about the age gap. There was several plot holes due to this. In previous books, ava loved violence she literally cheered at all the fights. And at those nights where they have those masks and go around beating people up from the earlier books she loved it. For her to get married to Eli over him killing someone and out of fear made her sound dumb. Landon mentioned in previous books that Eli and ava were playing games with each other for years. Their Gardners even knew about them. For it to not even be discussed and just mentioned vaguely as ruining his hook ups were weird. Everyone was scared of touching ava because Eli would kill them another fact forgotten, when they were kids in the extended epilogue it's mentioned Eli would stare at ava while she played with Creighton and Landon. Eli would get upset if anyone said she was their fav. Then Elsa mentions to silver Eli was asking Aiden about marraige contracts. There was so much build up and because of the age gap being labeled pedophile rina changed the storyline.

Just a further reasoning as to why it sucked it felt like a full on rip off of rinas older books like vow of deception series, god of pain etc. Eli being unemotional didn't make sense. He would stare at ava all the time throughout the series. Call her not his family. And was warm to Creighton. His absence of warmth towards Eva made no sense. Aiden mentioned he was very clingy as a child I was hoping to see that. The other thing rina majorly ripped of was bridgerton. Eli called ava the bane of his existence and the scene she's out side reminded me of queen charlotte

I kept wishing for a special bond. Between them but it all felt rushed. Like she wrote this out in a few weeks and didn't look back at all. And I loved and shipped them so much I felt very disappointed by it. I loved Coles hatred for Eli it was hilarious. Lol.

Last comment on this I felt like ava and eli deserved an epic special bond love story. Knowing each other from birth. But I never felt it. This dude kissed her on the mouth the moment when she was born but it's never mentioned at all. It just made me sad. Rina let us all down.

Well, that is a very thoughtful review. You are absolutely welcome to your opinions here. I'm sorry you felt let down. I think there were a few mentions of their childhood that were left out. I agree. However, when I reread the series, I saw the moments where they were dancing around each other. Also, kissing a baby when you're six is not an indication of obsession... my nieces and nephews kiss new babies they meet plenty of times. 🤷‍♀️ But please refrain from absolutes like "she let us ALL down..." cause obviously I gave it 5 stars and was very moved by it and so were many of my viewers. I love a thoughtful discussion but my comments are not the place for trashing a book that I, myself loved... 😬🫠😉 save it for goodreads. There's plenty of 1 and 2 star reviews there. My channel is my home on the internet. So please be kind.

I still think about god of war. Depending on the day it ranks 1st for me with God of Fury. I think I teared up so many times, particularly when he finds her playing the cello hauntingly (a pivotal pt) so i won't spoil but IYKYK. The unraveling of secrets was fascinating. I couldn't see how'd l'd even like Eli at 50% in the book but when you realllly get a look at him. Knowing what we then find out, he became my fav. In my goodreads review, i likened him Darcy. His love isn't flashy but its layers deep and you couldn't help but feel for him.

Yeah, he really surprised me. I still find Bran and Niko to be the most romantic in the series.. just... wow. So swoony. But Eli was the most devoted. Absolutely. Very powerful.

I definitely need to reread God Of War at a later date as a stand alone, I couldn't really appreciate it fairly right now as part of the series, because I've been waiting for it and it felt completely different than what I expected and of what we've been teased with for so long. At parts, it didn't feel like part of the same series. Maybe with a reread later, I can appreciate it more. Happy you are reading King of Mafia series by Michelle Heard. I love how she writes Mafia Men. What rating did you give Craving Danger? I don't think its on the video.

Yeah, she does go into LOTS of detail! It makes for a complex world but it also feels like you need to do homework to read. Even if it's a "new series". 😁🤣 But I will always have a soft spot for her.

I really need to watch North and South. I'm not sure if the character is also in the book, but there's a character named Ashton in the show and that's how my mom learned of that name and liked it so much that I ended up with it lol. I've heard her character is a jerk tho 😂
