When I finally read Slaughterhouse 5 it was not what I expected and I found it really rewarding.

@@readandre-read it’s a beautiful gift from Pat 😍. And I, too, am so glad we get to continue into 2025 with the Pineiro group ☺️

Great wrap-up, Debs! 😊 Very happy you enjoyed _Slaughterhouse 5_ -- it really does pack a punch, doesn't it! I've got some more Vonnegut on my reading list for next year, _Cat's Cradle_ next - will be one of my 25 banned books for 2025. I really need to grab my Dad some Claudia Pineiro - he loves trying the work of crime writers from around the world, and I'm pretty sure he's never come across Pineiro's work before. That'll make a good Christmas pressie for him! 😀

@@alex_unabridged thanks Alex. Loved SlaughterhouseFive. Thanks so much for sending it. I hadn’t come across Pineiro either but I’m really loving her style. Great idea for a Christmas present 🎁

I’m at the end of The Vicar of Bullhampton by Trollope and Mementa Moro by Muriel Spark and then onto Richard Osman’s The Thursday Murder Club. Trying to catch up with Osman. I’m way behind. Looking forward to more of your videos.

@@CionMohler great reading list. The book now one of those I’ve read is Richard Osman and I really like them. Hope you do too. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I really do appreciate it ☺️

Lovely presents from Pat. The storm has been wild and we weren't in the badly affected area. Great work on RWYO. I'm doing well, too. It's not easy.

Good work 😊. No we weren’t badly affected by the storm in comparison to come poor people but it’s been very windy, rainy and generally grim. Glad you weren’t hit too hard 😊

You’ve been busy this week Debs. I’ve never read Slaughter House 5, but I think I’ll get myself a copy after watching what you had to say. Thank you, look forward to your upcoming tagathon 😉

Thank you so much. In fact it was less of a haircut and more of me taking a pair of scissors to my head 😂. I find myself allergic to hairdressers mostly 😊

Vonnegut has some great books, I particually like Mother Night (which has a brilliant adaptation too) and Sirens of Titan.

I shall definitely read some more. Thanks for the recommendations Aaron 😊

Can I put a couple of poetry collections on your radar? You by Rosa Alcalá (Latin American poet) and Bless the Daughter Raised by a Voice in Her Head by Warsan Shire (Somali British poet). These have similar themes to what we've been discussing in the Piñeiro group. They are not beautiful, flowery poetry collections. They are raw and brutal but oh so powerful.

Oh thank you so much Arianne. I’m always on the lookout for new recommendations. Thank you 😊

Sarah J Maas is a strange problem. One wants to support her, because there's no sane reason she should be banned. On the other hand I have no interest in reading her.
@RaynorReadsStuff2 күн бұрын
@@davebrzeski that is it exactly. I’ve sort of talked myself into reading all of the books banned stat-wide in Utah. But there are six of hers and I’m struggling after two 😂. Maybe I should give myself a break

@@RaynorReadsStuff lovely yo support Maas but life's too short to read an extended series that you don't love.
