girl... I feel so seen by you being vulnerable about your experience with skin picking. I've been struggling with this for yearrrrrsss without ever realizing there was a name for it or that it was actually a coping mechanism. you're the first content creator I've seen open up about it and I appreciate you so much. I feel a little less alone whenever I watch a vid where you talk about it lol

Meghan, this is cheesy but watching your videos feels like self care, a warm hug and healing overall. I've watched you since the teal home bedroom so it's a warm feeling seeing how you've grown up and reflecting on my growth too. I resonate with some of the hard things you've shared, the prickly mother stuff and the skin picking with all it's shame and embarrassment. I find it charming that somehow pre-teen me and all those I echo in the comment section stumbled across teenage you across the world on youtube, and now here we all are so many years later resonating over things we never anticipated back then. Thank you for sharing the good and the bad, it makes me feel so much less alone.

Anytime you vlog in NorCal, it's a fun game for me to see if I recognize the different spots. The vlog for Sydney's wedding was a highlight because the restaurant on the ocean is less than a mile from my work, and I was like "I commute that road 5x a week! I'll tell that road its famous tomorrow!" 😂😂

100% the increase in jumpiness can be caused by lack of sleep. anxiety can be wrapped up in that as well. our brains don't like being overly tired and its favorite past time is most definitely sleeping.

I want to thank you about talking about skin picking and the shame! I also pick skin on my legs and last year was the worst for me and even though I’ve reduced the amount of picking, my legs are scarred, so wearing short is definitely scary for me.

I struggle with skin picking too. this has been a coping mechanism for me for a few years because of anxiety. The worst areas are my arms, face and legs. Since taking anti depressants it has been getting better and better. plus it really helps listening to you struggling with the same thing - thank u!! ❤

I’ve been bullied my entire childhood because I pick the skin off my lips. I do it until they bleed and peel. I have permanent scars now & I still haven’t found ways to stop myself. I feel like nobody talks about this so thank you for your vulnerability and openness. As a kid I thought I was the only one and didn’t know why I was doing it.

I've been watching your videos for the longest of time. When I was younger I used to talk about the funny things you do and say to my siblings. And now, every once in a while they'd remember that and ask me 'hey what's meghan up to these days, is she still doing youtube?' 😂 Just wanted to tell you that I get very happy watching your videos. Much love from me and my siblings.

I jump from everything. My therapist says it’s a trauma response from being on eggshells around my mum growing up. My husband can’t walk into a room without me jumping. Do you think the stuff with your mum a few months ago might have triggered it? I also have a picking problem. Mine moves around every few years. It is currently scratching my head, I hate it because I can’t stop doing it and it looks weird in public. I also think the scabs/scars on my head is making my hair thin. Thank you for being so open about all of these things, it makes me feel less alone with it.

I skin pick sooo much as well. Feel you so much on that part. I started using a BHA toner from Herbivore and seen insane results? Like, no hormonal acne before, during or after my period????? No idea if I've been eating better or if it'S just the toner, but I honestly have never not had such absence of acne. (dry combination skin gal).

Love the white T Shirt, where is it from? I feel you on the picking. I have done it for years and in turn I don't heal well either. So, I have scars from my face to my toes. I have always worn long pants and long sleeves because I was so embarrassed. I would tell myself to stop but it wouldn't help. Then I would cry and be mad at myself because I was going to make more scars. I have no self esteem and think I am so ugly because of the scars. People would always stare and I couldn't handle that.

I also have a terrible skin-picking problem. Recently I got prescribed high-dose Zoloft for it, it worked pretty well but I couldn't handle the tummy aches, so I tried some non-medicated methods. Legit nothing worked for me but getting dip nails.💅 I read a lot of people said getting Gelx nails is better but haven't found a place to do it. So far it's working hopefully it stays working🤞 The only sucky thing is that it ruins my natural nails, so I am trying to figure out what manicure works to prevent picking without ruining my nails so much. Has anyone tried other manicures to help with it? I would love to try the traditional gel nails because I don't really like how thick dip looks (but I am guessing that's why it's so good at stopping the picking), but I am scared to spend the money on a manicure that might not do what I need it to do.

Not that I’m saying you should/need more medication but as someone who has a very similar set of symptoms/conditions as you have such as POTS adhd and OCD in the form of dermatilomania but my adhd meds makes my OCD so much worse I had wounds all over my face and chest it was so dangerous with infections and painful and my doctor prescribed me Guanfacine and it has been life changing my skin has been pretty clear for 2 entire years now and I feel like it’s not known well but maybe something to ask about or look into I wish you the best!

My anxiety causes me to avoid things too, and my friends make me feel guilty because of it. They tell me that they recognize this behavior in me and that I should recognize it too and address it. 😒 They trivialize this and make it sound like I can easily "fix" it. Meanwhile, I've been dealing with this my entire life, but okay. 🤦🏻♀️

Okay I neverrrrrr leave comments for some reason, but I just HAD to on here!! Meghan, I wonder if you remember me from Twitter! I followed you since day 1 in your turquoise childhood room! And I sent you a really viral Starbucks cup a loooong time ago when I worked there! ANYWAY! I’m commenting cuz I can’t get over how freaking similar we are! I have ADHD too (diagnosed in elementary school and just got new meds today), constantly pick at my skin and have been suuuuper jumpy and everything! I swear I’m not saying all this just cuz you mentioned it in your video. I’ve always thought I related to you a lot but this like confirmed it! You will always be my fav KZbinr. Meghanrosette! I even bought you’re not special and am pretty sure that was the last book I read…and I like never read! 🤣. LOVE you!
